About 14 minutes by car from Naha Airport. It is a brown sugar zenzai specialty store located in Matsuo, Naha City. In recent years, they have also started serving the booming cream soda. However, it is not an ordinary cream soda, but a “glowing” cream soda.
Point 1: The street where “Hoshi no Shizuku” is located is Taiping Street.
In recent years, “zenzai,” a dessert unique to Okinawa, has been attracting attention and is even sold in convenience stores.
I feel that there are two types of specialty stores: those that serve zenzai as a dessert in traditional restaurants, and those that have devised a way to make it easily accessible to young people.
Hoshi no Shizuku” is exactly the latter, a stylish restaurant that could easily be mistaken for a café.
Located in Matsuo, Naha City, Hoshi no Shizuku is on Taihei-dori Street, where many deep stores are located, and where new stores have been opened one after another in recent years. It is near Naha’s Yachimun Street and Noren Plaza, so it is a bit far from Kokusai-dori.
It is also near EIBUN, a popular Okinawan noodle restaurant that has recently released cup noodles from Famima nationwide, making it possible to take the golden route of eating Okinawan soba at EIBUN and then having Okinawan zenzai at Hoshi no Shizuku!
Point 2: What is the Okinawa Zenzai of “Hoshi no Shizuku” like?
Hoshi no Shizuku offers five types of Okinawa Zenzai.
The most popular is the “Island Strawberry Brown Sugar Zenzai” (1,650 yen), which is also illustrated on the brick wall. 15 “Churashima Berry” strawberries from Ogimi Village are used in one cup, which is quite a lot. The shaved ice has large kintoki-mame (red kidney beans) on the bottom and fluffy cream on top, creating a perfect balance of sour and sweet. Warm sampincha tea is also included.
In addition, there is a brown sugar zenzai with matcha green tea (1,350 yen), brown sugar zenzai with red sweet potato (1,350 yen), brown sugar zenzai with dragon fruit (1,500 yen), and milk zenzai with Ishigaki milk cow (1,100 yen) from Tsuboichi Seihonpo, all of which are very colorful and look good on Instagram.
You will want to go back for several days to try them all!
Point 3: What kind of cream soda is “Hoshi no shizuku”?
In recent years, drinking cream soda at retro coffee shops has become popular, especially among young people.
Hoshi no Shizuku” offers a total of four types of cream soda (750 yen).
The purple and blue, green and clear, red, and blue and white cream sodas represent the nature of Okinawa!
The price is great, but many people order it with zenzai (Japanese sweetened red bean paste) to make an Insta-evidence!
Of course, the zenzai and cream soda are not only Instagram-worthy, but they are also guaranteed to taste great.
