Nago Urawan Beach is located in Nago, near Onna Village, in the northern part of the main island of Okinawa. Although it is surrounded by famous hotels, the beach is always empty and private. The clarity of the water is quite clear, and the shallow waters are typical of Okinawa.
Point 1: How can I get to “Nagoura Bay Beach”?
Nagourawan Beach is located in Nago City in the central part of Okinawa Island.
To access the beach from the direction of Naha Airport, take the Okinawa Expressway and Route 58 northward.
The beach can be seen along Route 58, so it is easy to access without getting lost.
And even though it is in Nago, it can be accessed in one hour by car.
By bus, it takes a little less than two hours, but it is not that difficult since you only need to transfer once between Okinawa Bus and Ryukyu Bus. The beach is a 3-minute walk from the bus stop.
The gradation of emerald green and dark turquoise blue is beautiful, as is typical of the northern sea.
There is no parking lot, but there is a vacant lot where you can park for free.
Point 2: What kind of beach is “Nagourawan Beach”?
Nago Urawan Beach is located in Nago, near Onna Village, in the northern part of the main island of Okinawa.
The area has a celebrity atmosphere, with famous and large hotels such as the Ritz-Carlton, Kanehide Kise Beach Palace, and Busena Terrace all in the vicinity.
Busena Terrace is located nearby, and although one might think that the beach is managed by this hotel, it is not. The reason is that the guests of Busena Terrace go to the private beach on the underwater park side.
As the name suggests, the beach is an arc-shaped bay, small and private.
Onna Village has a reputation for having many of the cleanest beaches in Okinawa, but the water is crystal clear and there are plenty of tropical fish to enjoy snorkeling.
Point 3: What are some places to see and eat around “Nagoura Bay Beach”?
There are many resort hotels around “Nagourawan Beach,” so there are not many tourist spots. If I had to pick one, I would say “Busena Underwater Park.
It is a tourist attraction with a slightly retro feel, but you can have a rare experience of feeding fish from the top of the underwater observation tower. Glass boats are also recommended as you can see many coral reefs and tropical fish that have lived for thousands of years.
There are also many famous large hotels around the beach, where you can enjoy gourmet food.
The hale’aina HOA (Hawaiian Restaurant), located 3 minutes away by car, is a very reputable restaurant.
Here, they have a “HIBACHI” plate menu, which means Island Style BBQ, and you can enjoy garlic shrimp and other dishes such as poke all at once.
You can BBQ on the terrace, which is very refreshing.
Other authentic hamburgers are also popular.
