About 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This Okinawa soba restaurant is located a short distance from Naha Kokusai Dori. It is a unique restaurant in an old private house painted in blue. The food is very standard, but the broth is very strong. The price is reasonable and you will be addicted to it.
Point 1: What is the location where “Ukishima BASE (Base)” is located?
Ukishima BASE is located just off Naha International Street, about 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport. You can find it in about 5 minutes by walking down the road next to Hotel Collective, which is right in the middle of Kokusai Dori.
(It doesn’t look like an Okinawan noodle shop from its modern exterior.)
You can easily recognize it because it is a DIY old house and has a hexagonal “Ukishima BASE” logo painted in blue.
（We were seated on the terrace (terrace seats?). (Terrace seats?) We were allowed to sit on the terrace. The atmosphere was relaxed, with local radio playing.)
You may be surprised at the different atmosphere of the narrow streets with many private houses. You may be surprised at the difference in atmosphere, but it is fun to see the real face of Naha.
Point 2: What is the Okinawa soba menu at Ukishima BASE like?
The menu at Ukishima BASE is not limited to Okinawa soba, but covers a wide range of dishes.
There are set menus, a la carte Okinawan dishes, drinks, desserts, and so much more that one wonders if the small staff will be able to handle it all. The menu includes not only set meals, but also a la carte Okinawan dishes, drinks, and desserts.
There are three types of Okinawa soba on the menu: vegetable soba, sanpei soba, and nankotsu soba. The soup is made over low heat and simmered for 8 hours, and is so good that it would be a shame to add red ginger! You can choose between sticky or regular noodles, and whether or not you would like your noodles with jushii or not.
The waiter will bring you hooch bar (mugwort), so you can enjoy changing the flavor. Additional hooch bar is free, but you have to ask the waiter for it again.
Point 3: What else is on the menu at Ukishima BASE?
In addition to Okinawa soba, Ukishima BASE also offers a variety of other dishes.
We also have “Tofu Chanpuru” (pictured in the photo), Okinawa’s local dish “Konejiru” (bone soup), Okinawa’s unique “Chanpon” (pork and egg set meal) and “Chanpuru” set meal.
In addition, in addition to beer and soft drinks, we also serve Okinawa Zenzai.
Terrace seating? (We had Okinawan zenzai on the terrace. (It had large kidney beans in it and tasted gentle!)
Thinking it is a restaurant specializing in Okinawan noodles, you can have all the Okinawan food you want at a reasonable price here! The location is also easy to access, about a 5-minute walk from Kokusai-dori!
