About 16 minutes by car from Naha Airport. It is the second branch of “EIBUN,” a casual Okinawa soba restaurant located in the fierce battle zone of Okinawa soba in Tsuboya, Naha City, and opened in 2022. The menu is slightly different from the original, but the basic taste is the same.
Point 1: What is the location of “STAND EIBUN”?
STAND EIBUN” is about 16 minutes by car from Naha Airport. If you walk from Kokusai-dori, it takes about 10~12 minutes.
On the way to the restaurant, there is a shopping street that is a bit confusing, but keep in mind that when you see a large “Ufushi Shisa”, turn right and enter the alley!
After entering the alley and walking about 40 meters, you will first see the original “EIBUN” (EIBUN) on your left.
Recently, EIBUN has been gaining a lot of momentum with the launch of a cup of Okinawa soba at Famima stores nationwide. It seems that EIBUN is “probably the most active Okinawan noodle shop right now” (according to the owner of Okinawa Pork Soba).
Then, go about 100 meters further toward “Noren Plaza” and you will see “Okinawa Pork Soba” on your right, and “STAND EIBUN” is two doors down from there.
The name “STAND EIBUN” does not mean that the restaurant is a stand with only a counter, but was named with the idea of “STAND” meaning “to build,” “to stand up,” and “to continue the culture of Okinawa soba that can be continued in the future.
There are other Okinawa soba restaurants in this area, a mixture of old and new, and a mix of restaurants. It is a battleground among many other restaurants as well as Okinawan noodle stores.
It takes a lot of effort to get customers to say, “I chose this place! it must take a lot of effort to get customers to say, “I chose this place!
It is precisely because there is a lot of competition and competition is fierce that a new Okinawa soba culture is born in this area.
Point 2: What is the Okinawa soba menu at “STAND EIBUN” like?
The menu at STAND EIBUN consists largely of Okinawan soba, jushi, and drinks.
The menu includes “Soba” (1,180 yen), which is a delicious soba noodle, “Okinawa soba” (820 yen) with tripe, fish paste, green onion, and needle ginger, “Hon-soki soba” (980 yen) with two hon-soki, green onion, and needle ginger, and “STAND soba” (1,180 yen) with tripe and makanai meat.
Also of interest is the “Aasa Soba” (980 yen), which is somewhat of a bargain, with fresh noodles specially made for Aasa, Hon Soki, Sampai meat, fish paste with Aasa, needle ginger, green onion and white onion.
Come to think of it, although arsa is also a specialty of Okinawa, there was a time when I did not know what to do with it when I received it as a souvenir, wasn’t there? It can be used in Okinawan soba noodles in this way, too!
Other varieties of Okinawa soba include the “chilled jus-dare bukkake nama-soba” (980 yen), “kamatama bukkake Okinawa mazesoba” (980 yen; cheese and cod roe toppings available for an additional 100 to 120 yen), a spicy version (1,080 yen), curry Okinawa soba (1,000 yen), and cheese curry Okinawa soba ( 1,100 yen) are also available, and are of great interest.
Point 3: What is the rice menu at “STAND EIBUN”?
In addition to Okinawa soba, “STAND EIBUN” also serves “juicy” (Okinawa-style cooked rice).
While it is a staple of Okinawa soba to have “juchee” as a set, there are also traditional juchees, and recently, many young shopkeepers have come up with new and different types of juchees with their own unique flavor.
In addition to the plain S, M, and L sizes (180~280 yen), STAND EIBUN also offers a meat juicy (380 yen) and an egg juicy (380 yen) using a Kugani egg from Uruma City.
In addition to eggs, the restaurant uses domestic rice, dried bonito flakes, and an original soy sauce for egg over rice.
It seems to be more than just Okinawan soba.
The toppings for Okinawa soba are also varied: red ginger, koreh gusu, gomagusu, homemade black eight-flavor, chili pepper, black pepper, and hwasyo (Japanese pepper).
This makes it fun to enjoy many flavor variations!
