A popular spot for travel to Okinawa that can be enjoyed throughout the year!

Ocean Expo Park is located in Motobu-cho, Kunigami-gun, where the Churaumi Aquarium, a popular tourist attraction in Okinawa Prefecture, is located.

In addition to the famous Churaumi Aquarium, the park also offers a variety of facilities to interact with nature and a view of the ocean.

Point 1: Tropical Dream Center, a must for flower lovers

More than 2,000 orchids are always on display in this botanical garden of tropical and subtropical flowers and fruit trees.

Flower-guided tours are held daily to introduce rare plants while walking around the museum.

Point 2: Tropical and Subtropical Urban Botanical Garden with plant exhibits and hands-on experiences

This botanical garden has a “sample garden” with a collection of tropical and subtropical plants and a “green consultation center” full of information related to urban greening.

Specialized books are abundant on plants, which visitors are free to browse. The garden also offers guided tours where visitors can learn about plants and enjoyable events for everyone, such as making plant crafts, as needed.

Point 3: Okinawa Local Village and Omoro Botanical Garden, where you can get a taste of old Okinawa

The park is divided into two areas: “Okinawa Local Village,” which recreates scenes of Okinawa in the Ryukyu Kingdom period from the 17th to 19th century, and “Omoro Botanical Garden,” where visitors can observe 22 kinds of Okinawa’s native plants.

Self-guides are installed in each building, and visitors can press a button to get an explanation about that building. Visitors can not only view the reconstructed village but also learn about it.

Inside the park, you will be warmly welcomed by grandmothers. You can enjoy traditional dances and sanshin (Okinawan three-stringed instrument) performances with them.

All of these experiences are free of charge!
