Approximately 17 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This restaurant is located in Umikaji Terrace in the southern part of Okinawa’s main island. It is very popular for its delicious tuna at a reasonable price! Celebrities also frequent the restaurant, and many people visit every time they come to Okinawa! The restaurant is directly managed by fishermen and is a unique place in Okinawa where you can get fresh raw tuna.
Point 1: What is the location of “Dad’s Tuna”?
My Father’s Tuna” is a restaurant specializing in fresh tuna located in Umikaji Terrace, a facility only 17 minutes from Naha Airport.
On the mainland, the tuna we usually eat is frozen, but in Okinawa, where fishing grounds are close by and freezing is not necessary, we can eat fresh tuna.
In pelagic fisheries, tuna that is caught must be frozen or it will go bad by the time it is brought back to Japan, but the freshness is reduced because the cells are destroyed.
Even fresh tuna loses some freshness during distribution, but this is said to be of little concern because the tuna tastes better when it is aged.
In Japan, Okinawa is probably the only place in the world where fresh tuna is available because of its proximity to fishing grounds, and it is sure to have a different taste from frozen tuna.
Here at “Dad’s Tuna,” the tuna is caught by the father, a fisherman, and served by his son and daughter-in-law, a style that has won over many fans.
Point 2: Delicious yet reasonably priced! Introducing the tuna menu at Dad’s Tuna!
At “My Father’s Tuna,” the tuna menu also offers a wide variety.
First is the standard “Dad’s Raw Tuna Bowl” (1180 yen), topped with a rich, raw Arrow Kana egg. The yolk is so firm that you can’t break it with chopsticks!
And the “Tuna Temakizushi” (480 yen), a takeout menu item, comes in a cup with my dad’s tuna logo. The sensation of being able to eat it easily is young!
Then there is the “Ahi Poki Rice” (1,540 yen), a colorful-looking bowl of Hawaiian soul food with rice topped with pickled ahi (tuna), avocado, prefectural vegetable salad, and an Alokana egg. We recommend mixing the Arokana tamago into the bowl!
The tuna rice bowl is delicious even with regular tuna, but what happens when it is served with raw tuna? Please try it for yourself!
By the way, my friend who loves Okinawa is also a repeat customer of this restaurant.
Point 3: What else is on the “Dad’s Tuna” menu?

In addition to rice bowls and sushi, Dad’s Tuna also serves raw tuna sashimi (680 yen).
Also, the umi budo (sea grapes) harvested in Itoman (680 yen) is a generous portion, so it is the perfect size to share. The crunchy texture is addictive. UMIBUDO (380 yen) is also available as a topping.
The “Maguro Dashi Udon” (550 yen), made from the head of one tuna fish, is also excellent! It also produces plump collagen, which is good for beauty!
You can also order raw eggs from Arokana for 200 yen each, so you can try topping them on the dishes you order!
My Father’s Tuna” is a famous restaurant that serves delicious yet reasonably-priced food. Please try to visit once.
