About a minute’s drive from Naha Airport. This Chinese restaurant is located in the hotel “Coco Garden Resort Okinawa” on the east coast of the central Okinawa main island. The buffet for both lunch and dinner is very popular, and there are many repeat customers. Some say the food is even better than the local Hong Kong cuisine!

Point 1: Inside the hotel? What is the location of “Makan Makan”?

Makan Makan” is located in a hotel called “Coco Garden Resort Okinawa” in Uruma City on the east coast of central Okinawa Island.

The Okinawa Expressway runs close to the hotel, so it takes only one hour by car from Naha Airport.

Around the hotel, there are parks, ruins of a castle, schools, and Sanei Ishikawa City, so it does not feel like a tourist area. It is more like an area closely related to the daily lives of the local people.

The Chinese restaurant with a delicious buffet at “Cocogarden Okinawa” in Uruma City, built in such an area, is based on the concept of “living at home,” as if you are having a meal in the living room of an elegant house. The interior, with its extensive use of wood, gives it a relaxed feeling.

Many locals are repeat customers, and there are even coupon tickets available for a small discount.

What kind of restaurant is this?

Point 2: What is the lunch buffet menu at “Makan Makan” like?

The lunch buffet menu at Makan Makan is a 90-minute order buffet of 50 kinds of dim sum. The dishes are steamed to order, so it may take a little longer, but the result is a deliciously plump and juicy dish that is as good as any on the local market!

The menu includes the standard dim sum items such as char siu buns and xiaolongbao, clay pot meat, shrimp mayo, etc. The menu also includes mango pudding and apricot bean curd. There are also desserts such as mango pudding, apricot pudding, sesame dumplings, and 50 other varieties.

There is also a hot and spicy hot pot with Yushi tofu and red sweet potato custard buns, just like in Okinawa.

The refined interior design and the authentic dim sum prepared by a Taiwanese chef are beyond local standards.

This may be a rarity in Okinawa.

The price for this quality is a reasonable 3,500 yen for adults.

Point 3: What is the dinner buffet menu at “Makan Makan” like?

Makan Makan” also offers a dinner buffet.

This is also steamed to order, and there is no time limit.

The variety of dim sum, small appetizers, and desserts is the same as the lunch buffet, but there are also noodle dishes such as jade and pho, medicinal herbs, congee such as beef, and, for a limited time, shrimp and crab specials.

This is a chance to indulge in authentic shrimp chili, soft crab shells, fried lobster toast, blue crab and vermicelli soup, snow crab fried rice, etc., which you would normally order sparingly.

This is a limited-time offer until March, but specials are planned for later months as well.

The price is expensive at 6,000 yen for adults, but considering that it is a buffet, I think it is well worth the cost. Please try it once.
