This Italian specialty restaurant is located in Matsuo, Naha City, about 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport. The food is served in small portions on plates, so even if you go with a small group, you can eat a variety of foods. You will be impressed to find such a nice restaurant just a little bit off Kokusai-dori.

Point 1: What is the location of “Trattoria Someya” from Kokusai Dori?

Trattoria Someya” is only 15 minutes from Naha Airport. It is located just 15 minutes from Naha Airport, a short distance from Kokusai Street in Matsuo, Naha City. On the glamorous Kokusai-dori, there are mainly only steak restaurants, live island songs, souvenir stores, and ice cream stores, but just a little further down the street, you will be impressed to find such a nice restaurant.

It is an Italian restaurant! The chic brick interior has a southern Italian atmosphere, with a counter that seats about six! There are also two tables.

The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team, and I got the impression that many of the regulars are locals. Pasta and dishes are served in small portions, so it is easy to enjoy a variety of dishes even if you are in a small group.

Point 2: Small portions! What kind of food does “Trattoria Someya” serve?

At Trattoria Someya, the dishes are served in small portions, as the restaurant specializes in pintxos.

Even pasta is served in small portions. The dishes are also served in three or so bites.

For example, even the pasta is made with fresh pasta that is very chunky, and there are different types such as ario aurio, porcini and bacon, Bongolebianco, tomato and mozzarella, and Ishigaki beef Bolognese, etc. Fresh, local ingredients are used well.

There are also porcini and mushrooms, ricotta cheese and spinach ravioli with a delicious-looking cross-section, and lasagna with minced Ishigaki beef.

For meat, there are sauteed young prefectural chicken thigh, roasted duck breast, and Yanbaru chicken gizzard confit with herbs, while for fish, there is cod milt Meuniere with burnt butter sauce, puree of inshore prefectural fish with Shikwasa sauce, and carpaccio of fresh fish, all actively using local ingredients.

The restaurant seems to focus more on course meals, with the a la carte-centered “Ostoria Somea” next door.

The course menu starts at around 2,300 yen without dessert, but if you order the full course, the price is around 3,000 yen per person, which is a reasonable price for a meal that includes about eight dishes and drinks.

The portions are small, so you won’t feel full, but you will feel pleasantly satiated after the course.

Point 3: Dolce at “Trattoria Someya” is also fun!

The dolce (dessert) at Trattoria Someya is also a pleasure.

The photo shows the rich-looking “crème brûlée,” but there are many other varieties.

The unique dessert is a 1mm thin Mont Blanc served as high as it can go, which looks amazing.

It is said that there are many Italian-like izakayas in Okinawa, but there are not many serious Italian restaurants, even for a lunch course. Trattoria SOMEYA is one of those rare places.

Please give it a try.
