It is about 51 minutes by car from Naha Airport. It is a restaurant with a retro Showa-era atmosphere located in Ishikawa on the east coast of central Okinawa Island. It is a restaurant with a retro Showa-era atmosphere, offering a combination of three perfect elements: low prices, high portions, and delicious food.

Point 1: Surprisingly easy to get to? What is the location of Akazaki Restaurant?

Akazaki Restaurant is located in Ishikawa, on the east coast of central Okinawa Island, and has the aroma of the Showa Era (1926-1989). It has been in business for more than 50 years!

It is a little different from the American diner-type restaurants that are common in Okinawa. It is more like a Showa-era diner. They serve Japanese, Western, Chinese, and Ryukyuan cuisine in a Chanpuru style.

The neon sign that reads “Akasaki Restaurant” and the Okinawan red brick roof give a sense of nostalgia.

It takes about 51 minutes from Naha Airport via Okinawa Expressway. By bus, you can take Naha Bus No. 117 from the domestic terminal of Naha Airport and get off at the Ishikawa IC.

This is an area where tourists rarely go, and where stores that are closely connected to the daily lives of the locals seem to line the streets. In other words, you may be able to feel the real Okinawa more than in tourist areas.

Point 2: Save 1,200 yen! Save on lunch buffet at Akazaki Restaurant.

Akazaki Restaurant offers a buffet lunch, which is a great way to fill up at a very reasonable price.

The menu includes fried rice, stir-fried vegetables, salad, tofu, and egg Champuru, Tebichi (stewed pig’s feet), fried fish, stir-fried shredded kelp (kombu Irichi), Mozuku, tofu and other small dishes, somen noodle soup, two kinds of curry, etc. Nothing fancy, just the kind of food normally served in Okinawan homes. The taste is irresistible!

A generous serving on a buffet plate will make you very happy.

The price is 1,200 yen for adults over junior high school age, 800 yen for elementary school students, and 500 yen for children over 3 years old.

Neighbors seem to use the restaurant as their home kitchen, saying “I came here to eat because I was too lazy to cook. This is a “real Okinawa” experience!

We are glad that the prices are reasonable and not exorbitant like in tourist areas.

The lunch buffet is held 3.4 times a week, not every day. The dates will be announced on Instagram, so please check it out before you go!

Point 3: “Akazaki Restaurant” especially the Chinese set menus are amazing!

Akazaki Restaurant also offers “set meal style” lunches.

The restaurant is especially good at serving Chinese dishes, and the Chinese Lunch (1,000 yen), which consists of fried rice, Cantonese-style chicken, vinegared fish, stir-fried vegetables, soup, spring rolls, and salad, is of high quality! It is highly reputed for its high quality.

It is a pity that the price is only 1,000 yen with such a wide variety of dishes! But since the lunch buffet is 1,200 yen for adults, it is understandable that the set meal is 1,000 yen!

Note that the restaurant is open in the evening, but only for reservations for reunions and banquets. If reservations are made on Mondays and Tuesdays, when the restaurant is closed, the next day may be a substitute holiday.

Akasaki Restaurant is located in Ishikawa, Uruma City, in the central part of the main island of Okinawa. Please visit there to feel the real Okinawa!
