About 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This shaved ice store is located in Tomigusuku City in the southern part of Okinawa’s main island. What makes this shaved ice different from ordinary shaved ice is its shocking pattern, which looks like a parfait or an artwork. Many people go out of their way to eat this shaved ice. The restaurant also serves hot dogs.
Point 1: Near the airport! What is the location of PLUS MINUS?
PLUS MINUS” is located in Tomigusuku City, about 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport.
The city of Tomigusuku is home to the Ashibinae outlet store and the Umikazi Terrace on Senagashima Island, but this store is located further inland and may not be an area that many tourists stop by.
However, it is located along Prefectural Route 256, which connects to National Route 331, so it may be rather easy to find.
It is located in Zayasu, an area of Tomigusuku City dotted with many car rental shops, so it might be a good idea to visit there while renting a car.
Point 2: Introduction of “PLUS MINUS” shaved ice menu!
PLUS MINUS offers more than a dozen types of shaved ice, including limited-time offerings such as milk, Uji green tea, Okinawa Zenzai, chocolate mint, and strawberry & kiwi, but the most popular is the “Apollo Ice” shown in the photo.
The dark brown, red, and white visuals are the most impressive of all!
If you look closely, you can see the old familiar “Apollo chocolate” sitting on the top.
The visual impact is huge, and the taste of the sauce is also very strong, but the ice is soft and fluffy, and the condensed milk inside makes it easier to eat than it looks.
As you continue eating, chocolate puffs and strawberry sauce also appear, making you feel happy.
The white sauce on top is made of mascarpone and is rich enough! The rich taste hits you straight in the head along with the coldness of minus zero degrees. Perhaps it is this rich condensed milk flavor that makes me want to return again and again!
Point 3: “PLUS MINUS” also has hot dogs!
PLUS MINUS not only serves shaved ice but also hot dogs. The menu includes a taco-flavored chili dog (780 yen), which is just like an Okinawan one, as well as a hot dog.
The bread is made with wheat and natural yeast from Biei, Hokkaido, and is filled with homemade taco meat, tomato sauce, lettuce, cabbage, tomato, and cheese!
Eating one will fill you up as much as a hamburger!
Another unique item is the “Cheeseburger Dog,” which is a cheeseburger bun made long and thin and shaped like a hot dog!
The idea of taking a cheeseburger and making it into a dog is amazing!
Both of these shaved ice and hot dog items are priced at less than 1,000 yen! It’s a great way to have a delicious and impactful meal at a reasonable price.
