Approximately 24 minutes by car from Naha Airport. The hotel is located near Futenma Airfield in Ginowan, central Okinawa main island. Although far from the beach, it is a quiet area with no hustle and bustle. This stylish hotel offers various perks such as a welcome awamori bar and free parking.
Point 1: What is the location of “The Grand Hotel Ginowan”?
The Grand Hotel Ginowan is located in Ginowan City in central Okinawa.
Located along Route 58, the main artery of the main island of Okinawa, the hotel is a short distance from the beach, providing a quiet environment without the hustle and bustle of the city.
Route 58 splits into two parts after passing Urasoe and approaching Ginowan, one on the ocean side and the other on the Futenma base side, and this hotel is located on the base side.
The Ginowan area is just a short drive from Yomitan Village, Onna Village, Kitanakagusuku Village, and Okinawa City, which are a little further north, and even if you want to go to Yanbaru, the distance is shorter than going from Naha, and it has the advantage of being on a national highway for easy access.
Also, the free parking lot, which is rare in Okinawa, is a plus.
Point 2: What are the rooms like at “The Grand Hotel Ginowan”?
Photo: “Deluxe Twin” room
The Grand Hotel Ginowan has seven types of rooms: double rooms, standard twin rooms, superior twin rooms, barrier-free rooms, deluxe twin rooms, junior suites, and suites.
Deluxe twin rooms and above are considered “Club Floor” rooms.
Resort-inspired color scheme.
Even the double rooms, decorated in chic colors, are 17.6 square meters in size and have queen-size beds, making the interior environment gorgeous!
The deluxe twin room is 26.46 sq. m., which is large enough to accommodate two single beds. From the balcony, you can see the night view of Ginowan and the ocean in the distance.
Deluxe Twin, Junior Suites, and Suites are treated as “Club Floor” rooms,
Although there is no specific club floor lounge, soft drinks such as sparkling wine, red wine, sampling tea, pineapple juice, and Seekwasa soda, and snacks such as Chinsuko, jelly beans, Pringles, and Okaki are served.
Even in regular rooms, you can enjoy Awamori, soft drinks, and snacks at the “Welcome Awamori Bar” only from 16:00 to 19:00 “if you make a reservation through the official website”.
Prices vary slightly depending on the time of year, but a deluxe twin room on the top floor with half board is priced at around 20,000 yen per person, which is very reasonable!
We also like the fact that there are anniversary services such as dessert plates and kids’ services such as children’s slippers and overnight sets.
Point 3: What are the restaurants at “The Grand Hotel Ginowan” like?
The Grand Hotel Ginowan has a restaurant called “Restaurant Teach” on the third floor, with a warm wooden interior and open-air feel with three sides of glass, where you can have breakfast and dinner.
The breakfast menu does not have a strong Okinawan flavor, but the “Golden Agu Pork Champuru” is highly recommended! Other ingredients such as chilled tofu, Mozuku vinegar, and on-tama (soft-boiled egg) are all made with the best of ingredients.
Although it is not a fancy breakfast, word of mouth often says that the breakfast is delicious, and the fact that guests can eat it for only 2,000 yen is also attractive.
A buffet lunch is also available for 2,200 yen, while dinner is a French course meal served with chopsticks for 6,000 or 8,000 yen, which is also very popular.
