About 59 minutes by car from Naha Airport. The cafe is located in Nagahama, Yomitan Village in the central Okinawa main island. The menu includes colorful lunch plates, acai bowls, raw cakes, and other dishes that are typical of a vegan café. The space of the cafe itself is comfortable, and you will feel as if you can be healthy just by being there.
Point 1: What is the location of BLUE POINT FALAFEL & COFFEE?
BLUE POINT FALAFEL & COFFEE opened in June 2023 in Nagahama, Yomitan Village, central Okinawa Island.
Located along Prefectural Route 6, it is right next to the ocean, and on a clear day, the blue waters of Yomitan Village can be seen up close.
It takes less than one hour from Naha Airport.
There are several bus routes. First, take the TK02 Tokyo Bus bound for Kokusai-dori Iriguchi from the domestic terminal to Naha Commercial High School.
From the front of the Okinawa Times, a 4-minute walk away, take the Ryukyu Bus bound for Wakamatsu Iriguchi (for Urasoe and Omoromachi), get off at Blue Seal Honten (for Oosana), and transfer to the Ryukyu Bus No. 28, bound for Makiminato Blue Seal Honten North (for Oosana and Mashiki Junior High School).
Take that bus to the Yomitan Bus Terminal (the last stop), and then walk for 13 minutes to get there.
The bus transfer may seem like a bit of a hurdle, but it is surprisingly not difficult, so give it a try! Bus drivers in Okinawa are very kind.
The chalk-white exterior of the bus, and the white, brown, and blue interior give it a mature look. The blue ocean outside the large windows. It is as if you are healed just by sitting there.
Point 2: Introducing the food menu at BLUE POINT FALAFEL & COFFEE
Falafel, which is attached to the name of Blue Point Falafel & Coffee, refers to bean croquettes, a popular dish in the Middle East and elsewhere.
The restaurant’s entire menu is vegan (all animal products, including eggs and dairy products, are not consumed), so it is recommended for foreigners and people who usually follow a vegan diet.
Particularly recommended are the lunch plates, which come in three different varieties and are colorful and visually beautiful, with red, green, purple, and yellow colors.
The plates combine turmeric lemon rice, and salad with Middle Eastern seasoning dukkah, falafel, hummus, and quinoa beans, and are gentle and filling, even though they contain no animal products!
Other unusual menu items include a pita sandwich that is delicious down to the crust, a hemp burger whose bun is black with hemp charcoal, a mango and dragon fruit smoothie bowl, and an almond milk gratin!
A vegan menu that is kind to body and soul is available.
Point 3: Introduction of the dessert and cafe menu at BLUE POINT FALAFEL & COFFEE!
Blue Point Falafel & Coffee also offers a wide variety of vegan desserts and drinks.
For example, the raw tiramisu in the photo is made without animal products, and the ice cream cookie sandwich chocolate mint is a popular choice for those who do not like chocolate mint.
For drinks, there are “Seekwasa Soda” and “Seekwasa Lassi,” which are made by mixing enzyme syrup with carbonated water! Perfect for the coming season.
There is also a café latte made with coffee beans and soy milk (or oats milk or almond milk) from “Amber Holic” in Okinawa City, as well as cacao, pineapple, acai, and kale smoothies.
The entire menu is vegan, making Blue Point Falafel & Coffee a cafe that is kind to both body and soul.
