This brown sugar curry restaurant is located in “Noren Plaza” in Higawa, Naha City, about 16 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Spicy curry with brown sugar, which is typical of Okinawa, is a feature of this restaurant. Spiced curry with chicken thigh and keema curry are addictively delicious. The unique feature of their curry is that they bring you 12 different kinds of spices for a “taste change.

Point 1: Close to Naha’s deepest spots! What is the location of “Okinawa Brown Sugar Curry Restaurant, Ajitoya, Noren Plaza Branch”?

Located on the first floor of Noren Plaza in Higawa, Naha City, Ajitoya is a curry specialty restaurant that specializes in Okinawan brown sugar curry, which uses Okinawan brown sugar as a secret ingredient.

It will open in April 2023.

The owner and chef, Kenji Yamazaki, created the current brown sugar curry through trial and error, using organic spices based on soup curry from his hometown of Sapporo.

There are also restaurants in Awase, Shuri, and to our surprise, Sakado City, Saitama Prefecture.

The area where this restaurant is located is close to Tsuboya Yachimun Street, a fierce battleground for Okinawan soba noodles, and the Hyatt Regency, a hidden gourmet area in Naha with some of Naha’s deepest spots.

In recent years, the area has been featured in magazines and guidebooks read by people who are tired of ordinary Naha, but there are still many people who do not know about this hidden spot.

Point 2: What curry menu does “Okinawa Brown Sugar Curry Shop, Ajitoya, Noren Plaza Branch” have?

Ajitoya Okinawa Brown Sugar Curry Shop Noren Plaza offers two main types of curry: Organic Spice Curry and Keema Curry.

The organic spice curry comes in four varieties: coco Sri Lankan, tomato chicken, chicken Sri Lankan, and vegetable (980 yen), while the keema curry comes in four varieties: keema chicken, keema cream chicken, keema bacon, and keema sausage (1,080 to 1,300 yen).

There is also an Okinawan-style Cartilage Soki Curry!

The spice curry is dynamic, with colorful vegetables and chicken on the bone!

It is hard to tell that brown sugar is in the curry, but it gives it a sweetness and richness not found in ordinary curry, and makes you happy. The chicken topping also has a crispy skin, and its salty-salty taste goes well with the sweetness of the curry.

The keema curry is also concentrated with the flavor of minced meat, and once you try it, you will never forget the taste! It has many secret fans.

(This is organic spiced curry! (Dynamic with chicken thighs all over the place!)

(It was also unique in that they brought 12 different spices for “changing flavors.”)

(I loved the brown sugar from Iriomote and Tarama islands and the Karaki Ryukyu Nikkei!)

Point 3: There are other cafes where you can eat curry from “Okinawa Brown Sugar Curry Shop, Ajitoya, Noren Plaza Branch”!

Ajitoya’s curry is also available at the cafe attached to the Rakuen Department Store on the second floor of the department store Liubou in Kumoji, Naha City.

Ajitoya’s retort-pack curry (Okinawa brown sugar curry keema chicken cream, keema chicken 766 yen) and spices (tropical curry spice HOT, SWEET 626 yen) can also be purchased by mail order.

Rakuen Department Store is a select store that offers “good things” not only from Okinawa but also from Japan and other countries, and it is indeed a good thing that they pay attention to “Ajitoya”! It is safe to say that they have a skilled buyer.

Surprisingly, there are Hokkaido-related restaurants in Okinawa. Hokkaido is rich in delicious ingredients, but the fact that the owner moved to Okinawa must mean that he fell in love with the abundance of Okinawan ingredients. It is a good thing that places with abundant ingredients can produce delicious food through synergy!
