It is about 14 minutes by car from Naha Airport. It is a fresh fish store located on the first floor of Noren Plaza in Higawa, Naha City. Not only does it sell fish, but you can also have lunch in front of the store for a low price! The fish and bitter gourd tempura in the hot corner are also delicious!
Point 1: In Noren Plaza! What is the location of “Meika Fresh Fish Restaurant”?

(Naka Fresh Fish Restaurant is located on the first floor of “Nouren Plaza” in Higawa, Naha City.)
Meika Fresh Fish Store” is located on the first floor of “Nourren Plaza,” about 14 minutes by car from Naha Airport.
This “Nouren Plaza” was renovated and opened in 2017, and was formerly called Nouren Market.
Once inside, you will find a variety of stores, from modern café-style stores to old-fashioned stores, and you will see many people eating in front of the stores.
To tell the truth, I had not checked out this restaurant and went to Ishikawa Tempura a few doors down, but it was already closed for the day and had no tempura. We hurriedly decided to eat fish tempura at this restaurant, which was still open.
Many of the restaurants in this Uren Plaza open from around 3:00 in the morning, and by noon, many of them are already preparing to close their doors.
Point 2: What kind of food is available at “Meika Fresh Fish Restaurant”?
At “Meika Fresh Fish Store,” fish are not only sold, but customers can also eat at the storefront.
Desks and chairs are lined up facing the store, and customers are eating with their backs to the aisle.
The fact that they are not stylish chairs and tables, but rather conference desks and pipe chairs, conversely stirs up a sense of travel.
Lunchtime is from 11:00 to 14:30, and the six-seat sitting area was full at that time. I looked around and saw that there were sashimi set menus, seafood bowls, fish soup, and eel set menus!
Even the most expensive-looking eel set meal was incredibly reasonably priced at 700 yen.
The “eel set meal” ordered by the man sitting next to me had just been delivered, and it looked delicious, with an eel the same size as a regular bowl of eel rice!
Point 3: “Naka Fresh Fish Restaurant” hot service “Tempura” was too good!

(Choice of fish and bitter gourd tempura!)
With all due respect, I had not checked out “Naka Fresh Fish Restaurant” at all, and having come to Noren Plaza with the sole goal of eating fish tempura at “Ishikawa Tempura Restaurant” a few doors down, I felt as if I was on a mission to eat “fish tempura” anyway.
So I chose fish tempura and bitter gourd tempura from the “hot service” section!
What a reasonable price of 70 yen per piece!
To tell the truth, I wanted to try the Mozuku tempura more than the bitter melon, but alas, they were sold out.
The fish tempura was fluffy and the batter itself had a slight flavor, but I could taste the flavor of the fish as well.
I thought to myself, “Is it possible to feel such happiness for only 70 yen?” I thought to myself for the first time in a long time. I have not felt this kind of emotion since I was in Indonesia about 30 years ago.
I also reluctantly bought some tempura of bitter melon, but it was very tasty, as was the fish, with carrots and onions as well as bitter melon.
Maybe this place is a great hole in the wall!
I would repeat the experience. Next time, I made up my mind that I would try the eel, mini Kaisendon set meal, and fish Ararajiru soup in addition to the tempura. I guess no matter how many stomachs I have, it won’t be enough!
