This bar is located near the public market in Makishi, Naha City, about 16 minutes by car from Naha Airport. The owner is a unique and well-known master, and he entertains you so much that you may wonder if free talk is part of the price. Not only is the owner great, but of course, the food is also quite good.

Point 1: 15 minutes drive from Naha Airport! What is the location of the “Ikkenme”?

Source: Eat Log

Ikkenme is located in Matsuo, Naha City, only 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport.

It is neither a senbero nor an izakaya (Japanese-style bar), but rather a “bar” in a category of its own.

From Naha Airport, take the Uzumira Tunnel and Matsuyama Street to Kokusai Street, and you will find it right behind Makishi Public Market, but it may be a little difficult to find because of its complicated location.

It is located right between the market and the “Po-tama” restaurant where there is always a long line of people waiting in line.

The semi-open-air seating area and the surprisingly (pardon the pun!) stylish signage are the main landmarks. The semi-open-air seating and stylish signage are landmarks.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is friendly and relaxed, almost like an izakaya (Japanese-style pub).

There are semi-open-air seats and individual seats for two, but there is also a large table in the center of the restaurant, which creates an atmosphere where customers who do not know each other can get along with each other, which is probably due to the owner’s character.

Many people seem to have decided that this is the first place to go when they come to Naha! It seems that many people decide to come here first when they come to Naha.

Point 2: “Ikkenme” What can be said about the owner’s character is the best!

Along with the food, one of the main attractions of Ikkenme is the character of the owner.

As you may have noticed if you are a frequent visitor to Okinawa, many of the restaurant names and TV shows make you laugh, and many people seem to like to be entertained.

Restaurants are no exception to this rule, and just like the food, there are many types of restaurants in Okinawa where people fall in love with the owner’s character and keep coming back.

As you can see in the video, the owner’s unique character oozes out even without sound!

This is not something that can be acquired overnight but is a natural product of the spirit of service.

Point 3: The food is of course delicious! The menu of the “Ikkenme”!

The character of the owner of “Ichikkenme” stands out, but what about the food? You need not worry.

The food is very tasty and reasonably priced.

However, there may not be much Okinawan food that tourists would like to eat.

However, the “Agu Shabu Shabu” (2,700 yen), a recommended dish, is a must-try, although reservations are required the day before. The reason for the reservation is that the meat is not frozen.

Only the portion reserved for that day is purchased at the butcher store and served.

Not only is the owner a character, but he is also particular about the quality of his food.

Be sure to try the belly with plenty of fat, along with plenty of green onions, served with a dash of Seekwasa ponzu (citrus ponzu)! The sweetness of the green onions and the Agu are intertwined to create an exquisite taste.

Other dishes include the famous grilled liver (680 yen), fried Gurukun (550 yen), steak (200 g, 2,400 yen), yakisoba (salt and sauce, 780 yen each), Jimami tofu and island Rakkyo (both 480 yen), bitter gourd stir-fry (680 yen), and seared Shime saba (690 yen).

It seems that all the typical Okinawan dishes are available.

The famous grilled liver is so delicious that I could gobble up two plates of it.
