Organic shops are exceptional when you stop by on your travels!

When you are traveling in a liberating destination like Okinawa, you will want to take care of your own health, something you normally don’t go through because of your busy schedule. At such times, it would be nice if there is an organic shop at your destination!

Here we introduce “Organic Market Tembusu” located in Hiyane, Okinawa City and Makishi, Naha, which carries not only regular natural foods but also products unique to Okinawa.

Point 1: Lots of attractive products!

For example, Okinawa’s famous sataa andagi (Okinawan dough) is delicious, isn’t it? But, since it is made from flour, deep-fried, and covered with a lot of granulated sugar, don’t you sometimes hesitate to eat it?

However, the items sold here at “Organic Market Tembusu” have a reputation for being guilt-free because the ingredients are so good.

The “Detox Cola” in the photo is priced at 1,980 yen for 300 ml, but it is an original product of this store, an herbal syrup made from various herbal extracts with effects that make the body happy by applying homeopathic theory, Ayurvedic philosophy, and the Yin-Yang-Five Elements philosophy.

There are five types of detox colas: good sleep/relaxation, metabolism boosting, blood thinning & beautiful skin, anti-aging, and motivation boosting.

It is amazing that they include everything from Ayurveda to Yin-Yang, the five elements, and homeopathy! I would love to try it.

Point 2: They carry homeopathic remedies.

Here at Organic Market Tembusu, we carry remedies used in homeopathy, which are not easily found even in organic shops in Tokyo.

Homeopathy is a natural remedy translated as “chemotherapy” in Japanese and is commonly used overseas.

The “Support Spike&coron” in the photo is a popular product and sells out quickly after it comes in. This is a sugar ball made from raw sugar cane, which is slowly dissolved under the tongue. It is said that this helps to discharge emotions and wastes stored in the mind and body, and enhances natural healing power.

Point 3: There are products using Okinawa’s specialty “Gekko”.

Gekko is a specialty of Okinawa.

It is said that shell gingko has insecticide, fungicide, antibacterial, deodorant, and aromatic properties, and has long been used in Okinawa as a wrapping material for moochies (rice cakes).

At this store, you will find a variety of products made from shell gingko, including insecticide, deodorant, and fungicide, hypoallergenic soap, shell gingko nut blended tea, and Shimako water (lotion).

It is a little different from the standard products and would be a good souvenir to be seen by Okinawan connoisseurs!
