About a minute’s drive from Naha Airport. It is a hamburger restaurant located in the Sunrise Naha shopping district in Naha City. There are many hamburger restaurants in Okinawa, but this one gives the impression of being the most community-based. If you come to Okinawa, you should try it at least once.

Point 1: Location of “Jef Sunrise Naha” and Jef Overview

Jef Sunrise Naha” is a hamburger restaurant born and raised in Okinawa.

There are many hamburger restaurants in Okinawa, but compared to McDonald’s and A&W, which are also chain restaurants, “Jef Sunrise Naha” gives the impression of being more community-based and offering original hamburgers.

Compared to other chain restaurants, there are only three restaurants, including Sunrise Naha, Yonabaru, and Tomigusuku. The company also operates “Iekei Ramen Issho”.

It takes about 17 minutes by car from Naha Airport. From Kokusai-dori Avenue, it is about a 5-minute walk.

By bus, take Ryukyu Bus No. 99 or 120 to “Naha Bus Terminal”, transfer to Ryukyu Bus No. 51 at platform 9, and get off at “Kainan”.

Since it is in a shopping street, you can go there without getting wet even on a rainy day!

Point 2: Introduction of “Jef Sunrise Naha” hamburger!

While other hamburger chains such as McDonald’s and A&W are trying to offer more American or Japanese-style menus, Jef Sunrise Naha is trying its best to offer a more Okinawan-style menu.

For example, the “Goya Burger” is a typical example.

This is Jeff’s signature menu item and was launched on May 8, 1993 (Goya Day).

The bitter taste of the bitter melon is transformed into a delicious flavor by the egg.

The burger is priced at only 420 yen for a single item! A set with a drink and fries costs 840 yen.

The “Nuyaru Burger” (480 yen for an individual burger) is another unique item on Jef’s signature menu.

This is the “Goya Burger” with pork luncheon meat, a favorite of Okinawans, added to it. There is also the “Maggie Nuyaru Burger” (780 yen for a single item), which is twice the volume of the “Nuyaru Burger.

Women can share one burger with two people!

Furthermore, the Maggie Nuyaru Burger also comes with fries and a drink for 1,200 yen, making it a slight bargain.

And not only burgers but also taco rice, spaghetti, morning and lunch sets are available. It is surprising that they even have Zenzai!

This is truly a community-based hamburger store.

Point 3: “Jef (Jef) Sunrise Naha” sides and drinks are also unique!

Jef Sunrise Naha has many unique side dishes and drinks to accompany its hamburgers.

First, there are the fries that come with every hamburger, but in addition to the French fries that are familiar on the mainland, there are also net-shaped cookie fries, mashed fries in the shape of a bale, and mixed fries that combine cookie fries and French fries.

Prices range from 260 to 510 yen, but you can have them with a hamburger for an additional 100 to 250 yen.

Also unique to Jef is the “Goya Ring,” which costs 250 yen by itself, but can be set with a hamburger for an additional 160 yen.

And a must-try is the “Fried Chicken” (320 yen per piece). Some people rave about this one! There are three types of chicken available: fried chicken, fried chicken, and boneless chicken, so don’t make a mistake!

The drinks are also unique and include “Orange,” which is synonymous with Jef’s drinks, as well as Seekers’ ale, seekers’ soda, root beer, and soups such as clam chowder and mushrooms.

Of course, regular coffee shakes, and cappuccinos are also available.

With three locations near Naha, Jef is an Okinawan-born-and-raised hamburger store that became independent of its franchise in 1986. It is a chain restaurant that has existed in Okinawa for a long time and is so commonplace that many locals and tourists alike do not go there because they think it is a chain restaurant, but we would like to draw your attention again to its unique and distinctive menu.

If you have never been to Okinawa, please give it a try.
