Minutes from Naha Airport by car. This parlor is located in Midori-cho, Uruma City, and has been open for 4 years. The difference from the old parlors is that there is no eat-in space, only take-out. In addition to the Okinawan-style taco rice and Okinawan soba, sandwiches, and hot dogs are sold at low prices.

Point 1: Near the ruins of Ankeina Castle! What is the location of COCO?

A large, gaudy pink brick is the landmark of “Parlor Kokoro (COCO)” located in Midori-cho, Uruma City. It is a parlor that is always run by about three women and loved mainly by locals.

The menu lineup is centered on taco rice, hot dogs, and Okinawan soba noodles, and there is also a takeout menu.

It takes about 50 minutes from Naha Airport via Okinawa Expressway.

By bus, take Ryukyu Bus No. 113 and get off at “Gushigawa Commercial High School Entrance,” you can reach the restaurant in about one hour and a seven-minute walk without having to change buses.

There are also the ruins of Ankena Castle nearby (8 minutes on foot, 1 minute by car), where you can ponder over the ruins of the Ryukyu Dynasty, so why not take a tour?

Unfortunately, there is no eat-in space at “Parlor Kokoro (COCO),” only a sales booth.

On the counter of the sales booth, there are many bento boxes, taco rice, hot dogs, sandwiches, and other items.

Since the shop opens at 7:30 in the morning, the customers are mainly locals, such as high school students on their way to morning practice or locals on their way to work.

Gushigawa Commercial High School, which has participated in the Koshien (the National High School Baseball Championship), is located nearby, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that the baseball team members of the Gushigawa Commercial High School are also powered by this parlor.

The prices are incredibly reasonable, ranging from 150 yen to 250 yen!

The great thing about Okinawa parlors is that you can eat delicious food at a reasonable price.

COCO also has a dessert menu, although the variety is smaller than the food menu.

For example, the photo shows shaved ice with tapioca on top. The big black tapioca looks delicious! In hot Okinawa, the shaved ice season is longer than in mainland Japan.

In Okinawa, where it is hotter than on the mainland, the shaved ice season is longer than on the mainland. The sticky tapioca is quite filling. I am sure there are different tastes, but it seems that tapioca goes well with milk tea, which is the most popular drink in Okinawa.

Tapioca drinks are also available, and even a large one costs only 350 yen! At this price, even high school students can easily quench their thirst.
