A new style market with fresh ingredients and restaurants

Noren Plaza has a long history. After the war, Naha is said to have recovered from Tsuboya. It started as a naturally occurring machine (market) near Tsuboya. When the “Noren Central Market” was established, the market was called “Noren” and was affectionately known as “the kitchen of Okinawans”.
Due to aging and other reasons, the market had to be torn down and was reborn as “Nouren Plaza” in 2017.
Although the building is newer, it still offers a glimpse of the atmosphere of the old market, based on a face-to-face selling style where shopkeepers and customers are in direct contact with each other.

At the far end of Noren Plaza, on the parking lot side, is Noren Farm, which sells many vegetables. It sells not only Okinawa-grown vegetables and fruits but also those from outside the prefecture. Because they are reasonably priced, restaurants sometimes stock them, and some people take them home as souvenirs from outside the prefecture.

When No-Ren Plaza was under construction, the restaurant was temporarily relocated and opened for business but has returned to No-Ren Plaza. Maruyasu Soba serves not only inexpensive and delicious Okinawa soba, but also set menus such as chanpuru and chanpon.
The restaurant has been cleaned up, but the taste is reputed to be just the same.
