About 10 minutes by car from Naha Airport! This business hotel is located near Tomarin in Maejima, Naha City. Originally a lodging facility for port officials, it is now open to the general public as well. The rooms are spacious and offer a great view of the harbor.
Point 1: Where is “Okinawa Seamen’s Hall” located? What is its location?
The Okinawa Seamen’s Hall was established in 1966 as an accommodation facility for fishermen and harbor workers, but now it is open to the general public as well.
Although the exterior of the building has an undeniably old-fashioned, staid image, the interior is well-maintained and is not much different from a regular hotel.
The location is excellent, being close to the cruise terminal, Wakasa’s taverns, and most importantly, Tomari Port, within walking distance (about 15 minutes) to Kokusai-dori Avenue, and about 10 minutes by car to the airport.
By bus, take the YKB888 Yanbaru Express Bus or Naha Bus No. 120 and get off at Tomari Takahashi, and the hotel is only a 4-minute walk away.
Point 2: Surprisingly spacious! Introduction of “Okinawa Seamen’s Hall” rooms!
The rooms at “Okinawa Seamen’s Hall” are simply Western-style rooms, Japanese-style rooms, and Japanese-style rooms.
Western-style rooms range from single to triple occupancy, while Japanese-style rooms can accommodate from three to six people! The Japanese/Western-style rooms are about four and a half tatami mats in size with three beds and can accommodate up to six people.
All rooms are more spacious than those of ordinary business hotels, and there is plenty of room to spread out your luggage.
Of the town side and seaside rooms, the seaside rooms offer a view of Tomari Port, as well as the cruise terminal and large passenger ships at Cruise Berth No. 2, so it is also recommended for ship wotaku (ship wotaku)!
You can also see the super-sized cruise ships that don’t come to Naha, Yokohama, or Tokyo, so it’s worth seeing!
Amenities include a TV, kettle, air conditioner, etc., and a complete set of bath amenities. The hotel also has room clothes, but I was surprised to see that even gowns are available.
And the most important thing is the price. For sailors, the price is 3300 yen for a single Western-style room and 4000 yen for a regular room. Twin rooms are 2,900 yen per person for crew members and 3,500 yen for the general public, which is a very low price that is impossible to find nowadays.
Japanese-style rooms and Japanese/Western-style rooms are almost the same price.
Point 3: Introduction of “Ikariya” on the 1st floor of “Okinawa Seamen’s Hall”!
On the first floor of “Okinawa Seamen’s Hall” there is a tavern called “Ikariya” where breakfast is available for 500 yen.
Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m.
There are also many Italian and Japanese restaurants near Kokusai Dori for dinner, so you will have no trouble finding a place to eat.
At Ikariya, you can enjoy set menus like the one in the photo, Okinawan dishes such as goya Chanpuru (bitter gourd stir-fry) and Tebichi-stewed rice, as well as regular dishes such as pork cutlet rice bowl, sashimi, grilled noodles, and steak, all for less than 1000 yen.
Okinawa Seamen’s Hall, located near Tomari Port in Maejima, Naha City, is an old business hotel that opened in 1966, but the interior is well maintained and the guest rooms are spacious and offer a full range of amenities.
It is a short walk to Kokusai-dori Avenue and Tomari Port and is also recommended for those who love boats, as it is possible to see cruise ships docked at the port of Naha from a close distance. Please come and visit us.
