The “Akabanner Inn” is a vacation rental that opened in February 2018 and is located in Nakijin Village in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island.
It is only a 15-minute drive to the Churaumi Aquarium.
One might think that being in the northern Yanbaru area, access would be difficult, but since the Churaumi Aquarium is a tourist attraction, express buses and limousines pass by frequently, so access is rather easy.
From Naha Airport, it takes about 1 hour and 38 minutes via Okinawa Expressway. If you go via Route 58, it will take about 30 minutes longer.
By bus, take the Yanbaru Express Bus from the airport, get off at “Nakijin Jogijiguchi Entrance” and walk 10 minutes to the restaurant.
You can also take a local bus or the Okinawa Airport Shuttle, but since there is a transfer and the fare is about 1,000 yen, the Yanbaru Express Bus is recommended.
Point 2: Calm and cozy! Rooms at the “Akabanner Inn”!
There are two types of rooms at the “Akabanner Inn”: Green Rooms and Blue Rooms.
The Green Room, a 44㎡ Japanese/Western style room, can accommodate up to 4 people, while the Blue Room, a 40㎡ Japanese/Western style room, can accommodate up to 3 people.
Both rooms are located on the second floor overlooking the ocean and have a great ocean view from the large windows!
The high ceilings make them feel very open.
There is a Japanese/Western-style room with a calm atmosphere, so you can feel at ease even with small children or elderly people.
There are also two semi-double beds in each room. The green room also has a sofa bed.
Both rooms have a mini-kitchen (no stove) and are equipped with a microwave, kettle, and refrigerator for your daily needs.
Washing and drying machines are not in the rooms but are shared.
Spacious bathroom and powder room. Amenities include preservative-free local hibiscus shampoo.
However, please bring your razors, toothbrushes, etc. as there are no disposables or room clothes.

There is another terrace above the living room terrace at the Akabanner Inn.
This terrace is mainly for star gazing, and on a clear day, you can see a star-filled sky.
