Halekulani is a Hawaiian word meaning “a mansion fit for heaven.” It opened in the summer of 2019 as the second Hotel Halekulani hotel on Hawaii’s Waikiki Beach, where it has been a favorite for over 100 years.
This luxury hotel is located on the coastline of Onna Village, which has been protected as the Okinawa Coast National Park.
Located approximately 1.5 hours from Naha Airport by car or 2 hours by airport limousine bus, the hotel offers easy access to tourist attractions in the north-central part of Okinawa, including the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and American Village.

The rooms, designed by Champalimaud Design, a company that has created luxury hotels and residences around the world, are based on the concept of “Seven Shades of White,” Halekulani’s identity, with spaces based on white and terraces with beautiful views of the ocean.
In addition to standard rooms and suites, there are villas with private pools and natural hot springs, perfect for honeymoons, wedding anniversaries, and other special occasions.
Point 2: A wide variety of activities
Hotel Halekulani Okinawa offers a variety of activities from full-scale marine sports to kids’ menus that even small children can enjoy.
The full-scale activities include snorkeling tours, experience diving, fun diving, clear kayaking, and more.
In the cultural program, you can learn about Okinawan culture through the “Hurley,” a traditional Okinawan game to pray for good catches and safe voyages, the traditional craft “Yachimun,” and the Sanshin (Okinawan guitar) experience.
