It takes about 1 hour and 9 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This beach is located on Hamahika Island, one of the remote islands off the coast of Uruma City on the Pacific Ocean side of central Okinawa’s main island, and is relatively easy to access. There is another beach with a similar name, but it is about a minute further south by car.

Point 1: Where is “South Muruk” located? How can I get to South Mluk?

South Muruk” is located on one of the remote islands off the coast of Uruma City on the Pacific Ocean side of the central part of Okinawa’s main island. Many people may hesitate to visit remote islands, but many of Okinawa’s remote islands are connected by bridges and can be easily accessed by car.

Moreover, if you take the Okinawa Expressway, you can reach the islands in about one hour from the direction of Naha Airport.

There is also a beach called “Muluk Beach” near Minami Muluk, and some people treat them as the same beach, while others insist that they are different beaches, so the exact boundary of what is “Minami Muluk” is unclear.

However, there is a peninsula between the two beaches, which seems to be the boundary line.

Point 2: What kind of beach is “South Muruk”? Is it different from Murukku Beach?

I know this is old news, but “South Muruk” reminds me of a drama called “Beach Boys” that was around a long time ago. The setting was not Okinawa, but there was a hotel just around the corner, and the story unfolded with the main character staying there.

The main character came here in the depths of despair, but when he saw the sea, he was inspired to do his best! The main character comes here in the depths of despair, but when he sees the sea, he is inspired to keep on trying.

As I mentioned, there is a peninsula between Murukku beach and South Murukku, but Murukku is a beach with a parking lot and shower facilities, while South Murukku is a beach with no facilities at all.

It is natural to want to go to the one with better facilities, but that is why there are so many people there.

If you are willing to put up with a little more than a shower, you would rather go to a beach that is empty and private! If you think so, don’t hesitate to go to “Minami-Muluk”.

Not only is this beach empty, but it also has a cave, so you can be sure to take some photogenic photos. A picture of the blue ocean through the caves would be wonderful!

This is a great place for those who like marine activities but also want to take good photos.

Point 3: What are the sights and food around “South Muruk”?

There are too many things to see and do on Hamahika Island, where Minami-Muluk is located, but you should visit “Silmichu,” where the Okinawan version of the Adam and Eve legend remains, at least once.

Hamahika Island is also known for its delicious seafood, and you can enjoy B-class gourmet food at a tempura restaurant called “Maruyoshi Shoten” located in the northern part of the island!

The tempura with Mozuku seaweed is especially delicious, and the combination of fish, squid, carrots, Mozuku seaweed, and other ingredients is very popular! Please enjoy the strong Mozuku taste that can only be found in the area!
