It is a 22-minute drive from Shin-Ishigaki Airport. Even though it is one of the five most popular beaches on Ishigaki Island, it is almost empty throughout the year because it is not so well known. Nearby is the most popular beach on Ishigaki Island, Yonehara (Miebaru) Beach. Why don’t you enjoy a quick and private feeling next to the popular beach?

Point 1: How can I get to “Yoshihara Beach”?

Yoshihara Beach” is located in the northwestern part of Ishigaki Island.

It is in the direction of “Kabira Bay”, which everyone visits at least once in Ishigaki Island sightseeing.

It takes less than 30 minutes to the city center and the airport.

There are various bus lines and it takes about 1 hour to get there. It is nice that the buses in Ishigaki Island are very easy to understand and simple!

The most popular sightseeing spot in Ishigaki Island is “Kabira Bay” where you can enjoy the spectacular view from the observatory or take a glass boat to look into the ocean.

Even though it is far from the airport and the city center, going all the way to Kabira Bay is well worth the effort!

The Yoshiwara Coast is located just a stone’s throw from Kabira Bay.

It is located just enough to be seen from the Kabira Park Observation Deck, and the emerald green color of the ocean is different from that of the main island of Okinawa.

Point 2: What kind of beach is “Yoshihara Beach”? Are there any activities?

Yoshihara Beach” is located in the northwestern part of the island, near the famous Kabira Bay area.

If you are planning to snorkel or swim on Ishigaki Island, you may know that the most famous beach, “Yonehara (Miebaru) Beach” is just nearby, about 5 minutes by car.

This one is well known for its life jackets, snorkeling equipment, and showers, so everyone will stop by there.

Like Yoshiwara Beach, the moderately rocky beach is a treasure trove of clownfish and other tropical fish! It is a paradise of coral and tropical fish!

That said if you are like me and think, “No matter how good the facilities are or how many fish there are, it’s not worth it if people are cluttering up the place,” then you should immediately stay at Yoshiwara Beach.

However, there is a detached current at this beach, so there is a possibility that you may be swept away before you know it.

There are no jellyfish nets or lifeguards, so swimming is at your own risk. Please be careful and enjoy yourself!

Point 3: What are the sights and food around “Yoshihara Beach”?

The northwestern part of Ishigaki Island where “Yoshihara Beach” is located is full of attractions including Kabira Bay. Especially, the view from the Kabira Bay Observation Deck and the underwater observation by glass boat are so beautiful that you will be lost for words!

There are several glass boat operators around, but don’t sign up right away. There are several glass boat operators around, but don’t sign up right away because if you sign up online, you may get a free Blue Seal ice cream or some other perk.

As for gourmet food, Ishigaki Island also serves delicious Okinawa soba, and I was impressed by the delicious tofu set at “Tofu no Higa” in the central part of the island!

However, it is a popular restaurant, so it is inevitable to line up early in the morning.

The homemade tofu is exceptional, and you can enjoy it in the fresh breeze of the semi-open-air store!
