The fine bread, worthy of the entrance to “Shikinaen,” was excellent.

Shikinaen was built during the Ryukyu Dynasty to provide recreation for royalty and to entertain royal envoys. The garden is a beautiful sightseeing spot, but there were no restaurants or souvenir shops in Shikinaen.

The local Maji community association and a nearby bakery, Imai Pan, opened a joint store called “Dynasty Bread Shikinaen” to sell their delicious bread.

It is a take-out-only store with high-grade bread available only here and souvenir sweets named after Shikmeien.

The shop is located at the entrance of Shikmeien, on the side of the parking lot, and can be purchased without entering Shikmeien.

Point 1: Creating a store suitable for Shikinaen

Note the store’s logo.

The motif is the peony flower used for the red tiles in Shikinaen Garden, with a crown-like bread in the middle and a hexagonal shape around it in honor of the hexagonal hall in the garden of Shikinaen Garden.

The blocks on the counter of the store are made of the pattern of Minsa-ori (five)(four), which means “always and forever”. It is our wish that we will be able to keep in touch with visitors to Okinawa and residents for a long time.

Point 2: Delicious bread is available only here.

Since Shikinaen was used by royalty, the “Dynasty Bread Shikinaen” has a selection of mainly high-end bread.

The bread is made with carefully selected flour, genuine cream, and homemade sweet sesame, which gives the bread a sweet taste that is gentle to the body.

The “King’s Bread” with its chunky texture, the “Queen’s Grape Bread” filled with grapes, and the “Perry’s Walnut and Cheese Bread” filled with walnuts, all have an addictive taste.

They are delicious eaten as is, or lightly toasted to accentuate the aroma.

Point 3: Souvenir sweets related to Shikinaen are lined up.

Since there were no souvenirs associated with Shikinaen, “Imai Pan” developed confections.

The sweets, “Shikinaen Ruumanpei,” “Ryukyu King’s Tea Time Cookies,” and “Shurijo Kariapei,” which seem to evoke the glamorous Ryukyu Dynasty, have won numerous awards.

These original sweets are light and last for a long time, making them perfect for souvenirs.

The selection of products is gradually increasing, so you can look forward to future developments at this store.
