About a minute’s drive from Naha Airport. It is a general merchandise store using Bingata that was renovated from an old private house in Nanjo City. There are a lot of cute sundries that you cannot imagine from the name of the store! There is also a hammock in the spacious garden where you can read picture books!

Point 1: A scenic old house! What is the location of “Niji Kame Shoten”?

Nijikame Shoten” is a general store using hand-painted Bingata in Nanjo City, located in the southern part of Okinawa’s main island.

Bingata and kasuri style souvenirs are common, but hand-painted ones are a bit rare, don’t you think? The store has a workshop next to the store, where craftsmen create each item one by one.

From large items such as stools and noren to small items such as badges and drawstrings, each piece is made with heart and soul, and they are all very attractive!

The store, which is housed in a renovated old house, has a large garden with a structure that allows a pleasant breeze to blow through and is equipped with a hammock where visitors can read picture books while lying in bed.

The shop is located on a hill, so you can see the ocean in the distance and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area.

It takes about 50 minutes from Naha Airport via Route 331.

By bus, first, take Ryukyu Bus No. 111 to Kuniba, then take the Okinawa Bus stop (Kuniba), which is a 1-minute walk away, to Maten Iriguchi, and then take the Nanjo City Bus (A1, express) to Chinen Shogakko-mae. It is a one-minute walk to the restaurant.

The location is near Saiba Utaki, but it takes a long time to get there by bus.

Point 2: Introduction of recommended products from Nijikame Shoten!

Nijikame Shoten’s products range from standard Tenugui hand towels to tote bags and masking tape.

Large items such as lanterns, noren (Japanese traditional curtains), and stools with a Bingata patterned seat are also available to add color to your life.

T-shirts and Kariyushi wear are also available.

Among them, we recommend these “nameplates,” which are rare and unique.

Each one is hand-painted, waterproof, and lightproof, so they can be used outdoors!

Since they are handmade originals, the price is a bit high, but having one is like having proof of your “love for Okinawa.

Point 3: “Nijikame Shoten” – Introduction of sundries that make good souvenirs!

Bingata of “Nijikame Shoten” are all hand-painted and of very high quality, but the price is also expensive!

If you want to buy a Bingata as a souvenir but think it is a bit expensive, how about the “Maasu” (salt) in a drawstring (880 yen) shown in the photo?

No two are alike, and the cute, round shape is also very cute.

In Okinawa, it is customary to carry a masu as a good luck charm, so the Bingata contains a masu.

Also recommended is the “embroidered badge” (770 yen and up), which comes with a Bingata mount.

The cute and vivid motifs of sand dolphins, whale sharks, tropical flowers, etc., look cute on plain T-shirts and other clothing.
