Point 1: By Yui Rail! Where is the location of ‘Hacksaw Ridge Tacos’?
Hacksaw Ridge Tacos is a taco shop located in Urasoe City, central Okinawa Island.
People often ask about the origin of the name. “Hacksaw Ridge” is the name of a high ground in Urasoe City where U.S. forces landed during the Battle of Okinawa.
The U.S. military called it “Hacksaw Ridge”; its Japanese name is “Maeda Heights.”
The scene in Mel Gibson’s film of the same name, where a medic, refusing to carry a gun for religious reasons, lowers wounded allies and enemy Japanese soldiers alike down from the fiercely contested ridge using ropes, was deeply moving.
Knowing it’s based on a true story makes it even more tear-jerking.
This taco shop, named after the movie Hacksaw Ridge, opened in October 2024.
It’s become quite popular locally.
The menu features tacos, taco rice, chili dogs, and hamburgers.
From Naha Airport, it’s about 24 minutes via National Route 58.
If not by car, we recommend walking 4 minutes from the Yui Rail “Urasoe-Maeda” Station.

Both the refreshing seakwasa-flavored soft taco and the spicy original taco with a Mexican-style hard shell are delicious.
Prices vary by type, ranging from ¥200 to ¥400 per taco. You’ll want to try both!
The burgers include the Hacksaw Ridge Burger and the Pulled Pork Burger, both featuring thick patties packed with concentrated flavor.
