Spectacular park to stop by on a drive in Okinawa

Chinen Cape Park is located in Nanjo City, on a slightly protruding point (Chinen Cape) as seen on the map. It is located at the tip of the Chinen Peninsula on the east coast of the main island of Okinawa. Although it is called a park, there is no playground equipment, but you can enjoy the beautiful view of the cobalt-blue sea spreading out before your eyes. It is a luxurious park that also serves as an observatory for viewing the sea. The park is open and spacious, so you can enjoy the various faces of the sea as you stroll around. Nearby are the World Heritage Site Saiba Ontake and other tourist attractions.
Point 1: The ocean is just beautiful!

The park itself is located in an open area and is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on three sides. This makes it a spot where visitors can fully enjoy the blue sky and sea that is typical of Okinawa. After a short walk from the parking lot, you will come to a steep slope with stairs. After descending the stairs and crossing a wooden bridge, you will reach the tip of the cape. From the tip of the round-shaped cape, you can see Kumaka Island, which is uninhabited, and Kutaka Island, which is called “God’s Island. In good weather, even more, distant islands may be visible. The contrast between the bright green of the grass and the blue of the ocean is also beautiful and soothing. It is also nice to be able to see the beautiful scenery from anywhere in the park.
Point 2: You can also experience paragliding!

Chinen Cape Park is also known as a place to experience paragliding. On days when the conditions are good, you can expect to see many paragliders in the sky. Since paragliders can circle in the same place as long as they can ride the wind, Chinenmisaki Park is the best place for paragliding because the wind is always blowing. It is very luxurious to take a walk in the air while looking at the cobalt-blue sea from the sky above. It is very difficult to experience paragliding in daily life, but here you can feel like a bird for about 10 minutes for about 10,000 yen per adult.
Point 3: Surprisingly unknown hole-in-the-wall spots

Chinenmisaki Park boasts a spectacular view, but it is a hidden spot among the many tourist attractions in Okinawa. I did not know about this wonderful place until I visited there. The person who told me about it was a long-time local sightseeing cab driver. He recommended a place near Saiba Utaki that I should visit. If it is recommended by a local Okinawan, you can be sure of it. There is a large free parking lot, so stop by during your drive!。
