Approximately 20 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This hotel opened in 2009 and is located in Itoman City in the southern part of Okinawa’s main island. The hotel is built on a point jutting out into the ocean, so the view is outstanding! This hotel is close to the airport, but it is not a business hotel; it is a beach resort hotel with a good cost performance for both single travelers and families.

Rooms at the Southern Beach Hotel & Resort Okinawa are based on beige and brown tones, but with fun and colorful fabrics.
Room types are roughly divided into Superior, Deluxe, High Floor Deluxe, Premium Club Room, and Suite, and these are further divided into four or five types of rooms, allowing you to choose according to your needs and occasion.
The furnishings are elegant and luxurious, with a tropical resort feel. Even the Superior rooms are over 30 square meters in size, and all rooms have a view of the ocean right outside the window, giving you a different sense of openness!
We especially recommend the Club Room. The rooms are decorated with fabrics in tropical tones, which will enhance the tropical mood of your stay.
You can check in and check out at your own desk, and have access to the Club Lounge with its serene atmosphere overlooking the ocean, giving you a premium feeling from breakfast to bar time. (However, hours are subject to change depending on Corona conditions.)
The price is less than 30,000 yen in the off-season, including breakfast for two, even though it is a Club Room, which makes me happy! I guess you could say that this hotel is a bit of a hole in the wall.
Point 2: The seven different depth pools at Southern Beach Hotel & Resort Okinawa are amazing!
Southern Beach Hotel & Resort Okinawa has two pools: indoor and garden.
The garden pool on the first floor is 70 meters long and is divided into seven different types of pools, ranging from a 60-cm-deep pool for children to a 1.5-meter-deep pool for divers. There is also a water slide, which will delight children!
Beyond the garden pool is the emerald green ocean. The view is great and the installations are great.
The indoor pool overlooks the garden pool and has a Jacuzzi.
Both pools are open for swimming from April to October, so don’t forget to bring your swimsuit.
Point 3: The restaurant at Southern Beach Hotel & Resort Okinawa is amazing!
Southern Beach Hotel & Resort Okinawa has a restaurant called “Reil” on the second floor. The name means “smile” in Spanish.
The large windows let in plenty of light, and the ocean is just beyond! The restaurant is indeed named “Ocean View Restaurant.
Breakfast at this restaurant with a spectacular view is buffet style. In addition to the Japanese, Western, and Okinawan buffet, the poolside restaurant offers a Japanese set meal, a Western set meal, and a continental buffet.
The tableware is not that of a buffet, but properly shiny china. The restaurant is also equipped with an “egg station” where a chef cooks omelets and fried eggs right in front of you.
Thus, Southern Beach Hotel & Resort Okinawa is a reasonably priced and cosy hotel that covers from single travelers to family travelers. Access to the hotel is only 20 minutes by car from the airport. Even if you do not have a car, the hotel is very easy to access as it is only one shuttle bus ride away.
