Approximately 1 hour and 36 minutes by car from Naha Airport. You will arrive at Okuma Private Beach & Resort, located in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island known as “Yanbaru.

The hotel is friendly to couples and families, as well as to dogs, and is well equipped. It has a reputation for its delicious breakfast.

It is also worth noting that there is a free shuttle bus service from Naha City and two inexpensive paid shuttle buses from the airport, though only one a day!

Point 1: Okuma Private Beach & Resort, a long-established hotel with a great style!

Okuma Private Beach & Resort celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018. It used to be managed by JAL. It is one of the oldest of the many hotels in Okinawa, and while the building may look old, the interior has been properly maintained, and it is amazing that you don’t feel that at all.

The rooms include the main cottage, palm cottage, doggy room, garden villa, grand cottage, and suites, especially the garden villa, grand cottage, and suites that were renovated in 2020-2022 and have lounge access overlooking the beach and emerald green ocean. The Garden Villas, Grand Cottages, and Suites, especially those renovated in 2020-2022, have lounge access overlooking the beach and emerald green ocean, making them very comfortable!

The hotel has many old fans and repeat guests, and I’m sure the fact that it still has so many fans is a testament to these renovation efforts.

Point 2: Okuma Private Beach & Resort has a reputation for its delicious breakfast!

At Okuma Private Beach & Resort, breakfast is served at the Surfside Café, and guests with lounge access can also have breakfast at the Shiokaze Café.

Breakfast at Shiokaze Café is an American breakfast, a visually beautiful breakfast with freshly baked bread, tropical fruits, and an egg station that also serves Spanish omelets with Okinawan ingredients.

Breakfast at the Surfside Café, on the other hand, features the specialty of “Obaa’s Corner” with “kachuyu” (dried bonito flakes and miso) and “pork and egg rice balls” made by an Obaa from Kunigami County, as well as fresh vegetables and tropical fruits, 10 kinds of jam made from island fruits, and other very unique items.

I would like to visit both if possible, because I want to spend time in the lounge and experience Obaa’s Corner.

Point 3: Okuma Private Beach & Resort Pool and beach comfort is amazing!

The white sand beach in front of the hotel is naturally private, as it is called a private beach.

There are a variety of activities for guests.

There are a variety of activities for guests, including marine sports, eco-tours, making seashells and coral wind chimes, and a private swimming pool for children.

Snorkeling is especially recommended, as you can see countless tropical fish even though you are not very far offshore.

Also, the beach is lined with deck chairs and bath towels are freely available, so you can just sit back and relax!

The beachside bathhouse with a view and a jet bath are also very nice.

Thus, Okuma Private Beach & Resort is a first-class hotel that still retains the style of a long-established comprehensive resort. With perfectly renovated cottage-type rooms, breakfast with grandma, and numerous activities, this is a hotel that is very much worth a one-night stay!
