Don’t miss the Manzamage area revitalization facility opening in 2020!

Manzakage is located in Onna Village. It is about an hour and a half drive from Naha Airport and offers a panoramic view of the East China Sea from its Ryukyu limestone cliffs.
Manza-Mo is said to have been named after king Shokei, who praised it as “enough hair for ten thousand people to sit on” during the Kingdom of Ryukyu period. Mao means “leaf” or “meadow” in Uchinaguchi.
Visitors can purchase souvenirs and enjoy a meal at the Manzamage Periphery Revitalization Facility, which opened in October 2020. In addition, a promenade has been developed, allowing visitors to go around with strollers and wheelchairs.
Point 1 : Enjoy souvenirs and meals at the Manzamage area revitalization facilities!
The Manzakage Area Revitalization Facility, which opened in October 2020, has a souvenir shop, a restaurant where you can enjoy Okinawan cuisine, and an observation deck.
Visitors can buy Okinawan souvenirs at the souvenir store on the first floor and enjoy Okinawan cuisine at the restaurant on the second floor. Visitors can also go out to the free observation deck on the third floor to enjoy a panoramic view of Manzamage and the East China Sea, as well as a 180-panoramic view.
Point 2: Walk along the well-maintained boardwalk to the rock that resembles an elephant’s nose.
To get to Manzamage, purchase an admission ticket from the ticket vending machine located in the neighborhood revitalization facility, and once you enter, you will find a well-maintained promenade. Visitors in wheelchairs and baby strollers can walk around without anxiety. The walkway has no elevation differences, so those with weak legs and backs can walk with peace of mind.
As you walk along the boardwalk, you will see a rock that resembles an elephant’s nose, which is the symbol of Manza-Mao.
Manza-Mao is a grassy park built on a 20-meter-high cliff, so be careful not to climb over the fence.
Point 3: Overlooking the East China Sea
Manzamo, overlooking the East China Sea, is a cliff made of Ryukyu limestone with the ocean spreading out below. On a clear day, the Motobu Peninsula, where Churaumi Aquarium is located, can be seen.
Also, from the free observation deck on the third floor of the Manzakage Periphery Revitalization Facility, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Manzakage and the East China Sea.
The sunset at dusk is very beautiful and a must-see.
