Okinawa World in Nanjo City contains all the attractions of Okinawa.

Gyokusendo Cave, which took about 300,000 years to build, is the largest limestone cave in Japan, with a total length of 5,000 meters and requiring more than 1 million stalactites. Visitors can also visit the Habu Hakubutsu Park, where they can learn the secrets of the Habu, and the Nanbu Sake Brewery, and experience crafts in a castle town that recreates the streets of the Ryukyu Kingdom period.

Located near Gangara no Tani (Valley of the Gungaras) and where the guided tour ends, visitors can enjoy Okinawa’s history, culture, and nature at Okinawa World after participating in the guided tour.

Point 1: Gyokusendo, the largest cave in Japan

Surrounded by coral reefs and a chain of subtropical islands, Okinawa is home to more than 600 limestone caves. Gyokusendo Cave in Okinawa World is the largest limestone cave in Japan. It took about 300,000 years to build, is 5,000 meters long, and has more than 1 million stalactites.

Although the cave is only open to the public for about 900m, there are many attractions such as the Blue Spring, Toyo Ichido Cave, and Ginga Kaido (Galaxy Road)!

Some creatures live in the caves, and visitors can enjoy observing them.

Point 2: Experience crafts and culture in a castle town that recreates the streets of the Ryukyu Kingdom era

In the castle town that recreates the streets of the Ryukyu Kingdom period, old red-tiled houses stand side by side and people in gorgeous Ryukyuan costumes come and go. Visitors can experience Bingata making, Shisa coloring, and paper-making while feeling the atmosphere of the Ryukyu Kingdom period.

In the free zone, there is a super Eisa show. The show is performed three times a day and features a boldly arranged eisa performance.

Point 3: The world’s only Hub Natural History Park is on site.

Established more than 40 years ago to reduce the damage caused by Okinawa’s habu, the Habu Museum has attracted worldwide attention and has become an international meeting place for venomous snake researchers from many countries. The park exhibits materials that allow visitors to learn about aspects such as hubs, mongooses, and sea snakes. There is also a free-range section for hubbies. There is also a spot where you can take a commemorative photo with a lucky white snake.

Why not take a picture with a white snake to commemorate your visit to Okinawa World?
