About 32 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This restaurant is located in the Chatan Town area and offers a taste of American home cooking. Salty chicken next to a waffle with whip on top! MAC (macaroni) twirled with cheese. It is a one-of-a-kind experience. Most of the customers are foreigners, so you can also enjoy the exotic atmosphere.
Point 1: What is the location of CC’s Chicken N’ Waffles?
CC’s Chicken N’ Waffles is located on Miyagi Beach, about a five-minute drive to Chatan Town. It is a place where many foreigners related to the base or local surfers live.
The center of Chatan Town has an image of a big tourist attraction similar to Odaiba, but since it is a little off the beaten path, there are almost no tourists, and suddenly there are many locals.
In such an environment, there is a small, homey one-story store. It is located behind a yellow hotel called “Hotel Ocean Front,” so it may be a little difficult to find.
It seems to be run by an American owner and his Japanese wife, and the menu is written in Japanese, but the prices are in US dollars (laugh). Is it currency fluctuation? But you can rest assured that even with the weak yen, the prices are calculated at 100 yen to the dollar.
Point 2: What is the signature dish at CC’s Chicken N’ Waffles?
The menu at CC’s Chicken N’ Waffles is not very varied.
Here is an example,
2 Piece Waffle & Chicken + Chocolate (+¥100) ¥870 + tax, (You can choose chicken or chicken breast. Chocolate waffle has chocolate chips embedded in the batter)
2 piece waffle & chicken (normal) ¥770+tax
Iced coffee ¥350+tax
Iced lemonade ¥350+tax
and so on.
And the mysterious mac on the menu is macaroni, a variation on the enchilada (¥650++ tax) with plenty of cheddar cheese (¥450++ tax), salsa sauce, shredded chicken, and cheddar cheese, as well as sausage and bacon (¥200++ tax each) and other toppings are also available.
The chicken is crispy and juicy, even though it is only a small portion, and the waffles are fluffy and covered with butter syrup! The waffles are fluffy and the butter syrup is a bit salty, which suits Japanese people!
The waffle is a large American size and is eaten with the accompanying butter syrup, but it seems to be a standard practice for Americans to eat their chicken with butter syrup as well.
Point 3: At CC’s Chicken N’ Waffles, it’s okay if you’re not familiar with the menu!
The menu at CC’s Chicken N’ Waffles is not very varied, but some dishes are rarely seen in Japan.
As well as “mac” (macaroni), Potato Wedge (potatoes cut into a comb shape with the skin on), gravy (a kind of sauce), and combos (a combination) are also on the menu.
Although the menu is written in Japanese, you may be intimidated if you see a lot of unfamiliar words, but don’t worry, the staff will be more than happy to help you out.
Also, check out the free children’s lunch service every Wednesday when you pay 1,200 yen.
