About 70 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This Indian restaurant is located in the American Village in Chatan Town. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you don’t have to come to Okinawa to eat curry! It is a cool restaurant with a chic interior where Indian music videos are played, breaking the mold of Indian restaurants. What kind of Indian restaurant is this?
Point 1: The interior of Curry’s “Bollywood Dreams” in Okinawa is amazing!
When it comes to Indian restaurants, the market is usually set everywhere. The entrance is decorated with Indian flags, Ganesha ornaments, and pictures of glittering Maharajas, and the owner is either Indian or Nepalese.
Bollywood Dreams” is a wonderful restaurant that breaks the stereotype of such Indian restaurants.
First of all, the entrance looks like it could be mistaken for a café/bar or a club. If it weren’t for the pictures of curry, you might enter by mistake.
The interior of the restaurant has cool studio-style lighting. There are lots of windows, so light pours in during the day.
The tables and chairs are black. On the wall are pictures of people who look like Indian stars. And there is a monitor that plays Indian music videos endlessly! With the lively sound of tabla music, the restaurant is in full-blown “Bollywood” mode, not Hollywood mode.
The plates on which the curry is served are also well-designed triangles. The naan is also served in a beautiful basket.
As you would expect from a restaurant located in Depot Island in the American Village! I thought, “This is just what I was looking for.
The owner is Indian, but speaks fluent Japanese.
