About 45 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This Thai restaurant and cafe is located in Nanjo City in the southern part of Okinawa’s main island. It is quite a famous and popular restaurant, and there is also a general store a short distance away. Located on a hill, the view of the Pacific Ocean from the seats is spectacular! There are so many dishes to choose from at Cafe Kurukuma that it is hard to pick just one, but the “Kurukuma Special” (1,899 yen), which allows you to experience beef, pork, and chicken curry in different spices all at once, is a particular recommendation.
Also, the vermicelli salad (1,694 yen) made with butterfly peas, the mysterious blue bean, and the steamed rice khao op and chang (1,391 yen) are colorful and must-see on Instagram!
At lunchtime, the restaurant is crowded with families and couples, but that is to be expected at such a popular restaurant. The restaurant is well-run and spacious, so you don’t have to wait long to try the food.
However, all the dishes are very generous, so the portions may be a bit large for women. It is good to take several items and share them.
