This stylish diner is located in Shuri, about 30 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Not only is it reasonably priced, but the taste is outstanding! The portions are generous. It is one of the best eateries among the many eateries in Naha. After all, you can fill up for less than 1,000 yen!
Point 1: “Nanahoshi Shokudo” is full for less than 1,000 yen!
Near Shuri Castle, Nanahoshi Shokudo has a stylish exterior reminiscent of an Okinawan house, not unlike a restaurant in town.
Once inside, you will find a natural taste filled with ornamental plants. There is also a fan spinning on the ceiling, which is surprisingly stylish (pardon the pun!). You will be surprised.
The menu is posted on the wall, as you would expect from a large-size diner, and the stylish interior is a far cry from the type of place where you sit down to share a table and gobble down your food, which makes you feel excited.
The restaurant mainly serves set menus, but it also features rice dishes such as Okinawan soba, Chanpuru, Yushi tofu, rice bowls, curry, and “soup” such as miso soup and Soki soup.
All of them cost less than 1,000 yen! Even if you add the more extravagant 160 yen toppings, you will be happy to know that the price is less than 1,000 yen!
By the way, ice cream is 200 yen, juices are 150 yen, and coffee is 180 yen. Orion Beer is a reasonable 450 yen!
Point 2: The best item at Nanahoshi Shokudo is the “Yushi Tofu Set Meal!
Nanahoshi Shokudo offers a large number of set menus, about 20 in all, but the most recommended is the Yushi Tofu Set Meal (700 yen).
The most popular is the “Yushi Tofu Set Meal” (700 yen), which consists of a bowl full of yushi tofu, a pork egg, macaroni salad, a small bowl of rice, mozuku seaweed, and zenzai (Japanese red bean soup) on a tray!
The portions are so large that even an adult male may not be able to finish all of the zenzai!
If you have leftovers, you can buy a pack to take them home with you for a fee.
And most of the 20 set meals can be taken out, which is great. Unfortunately, this Yushi Tofu Set Meal cannot be taken out because it is a soup.
Point 3: At “Nanahoshi Shokudo”, miso soup can be changed to yushi-tofu!
Not only at this diner, but also in Okinawa, you can add a small bowl of food to a set meal as an option, and even at the hamburger and taco restaurants, you can add a drink for a low price by making a “combo”!
Here at Nanahoshi Shokudo, you can change the miso soup in your set meal to “Yushi-Tofu” (boiled tofu).
Although the amount of Yushi Tofu will be reduced, it is good news for those who would like to try something else!
So many people dare not order the “Yushi Tofu Set Meal” but order the Chicken Cutlet Set Meal or Teriyaki Set Meal and change the miso soup to “Yushi Tofu”.
This is a recommended way to eat for those with an inquisitive mind who want to try a variety of foods using their limited stomach capacity effectively!
