It takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes by car from Naha Airport. It is a beautiful natural beach located in Nakijin Village in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island. The white sand beach stretches for about 300 meters and the blue ocean is like heaven! Although there are no marine activities like larger beaches, it is a popular spot for divers and surfers because of the amazing clarity of the water.

Nagahama Beach is a natural beach located in Nakijin Village in the northern part of the main island of Okinawa. In Nakijin Village, there are small, natural, clean beaches every few dozen meters, and this is one of them.
It takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes from the airport via Route 58 and Route 505.
Since it is located in the northern part of the large village of Nakijin, it takes longer than expected.
In addition, it takes 2 hours and 45 minutes by bus, not by express bus, but by conventional train via Ginoza and Nago, which takes a tremendous amount of time.
The beach is reached via a roadless road lined with tropical vegetation. There are parking spaces for about 5.6 cars, so parking on the street seems to be OK.
The beach is located facing the East China Sea with Izena Island and Iheya Island in the distance, and since there are not so many tourists and many locals coming here, the water is clean and one of the clearest in Okinawa.
Note that there is also “Nagahama Beach” in Yomitan Village, so please be careful.

This beach is not a formal beach, but natural, so there are no fancy marine activities. Along with the neighboring Akagatama Beach, it is a favorite point for surfers and divers, who wear life jackets, bring their equipment, and enjoy themselves at their own risk.
Parking is available on the street, convenience stores and gas stations are relatively close by, and showers can be rented for free at the nearby “Nagahama Beach Resort Umine,” so it is a blessed environment for a natural beach.
Point 3: What are the sights and eateries at “Nagahama Beach”?
The most popular tourist spots around Nagahama Beach are the Churaumi Aquarium, a 20-minute drive away, and Bise’s Fukugi Namiki, a 15-minute drive away.
The area has many sightseeing spots within Yanbaru, including the Nakijin Castle Ruins and Nago Pineapple Park.
For gourmet food, there is “Nakijin Soba” and “Yonamine Shokudo”, both only a 6-minute drive away, and “Kouri Shrimp” and “Kouri Jack Manny (hamburger)”, a 20-minute drive away, on Kouri Island.
It is fun to go from the quiet Nakijin Village to a touristy area, but if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, you may want to stay in Nakijin Village.
