It takes about 2 hours by car from Naha Airport. This beach is located on the east coast of Miyagi Island, off the coast of Uruma City on the Pacific Ocean side of central Okinawa Island, near that “Kaho Banta”. There are no activities, but you can enjoy the blue horizon as far as the eye can see with a sense of being at the very end of the world!
Point 1: What is the location of “Uk’s Beach”?
Uuku no Hama” is located on Miyagi Island in Uruma City, in the central part of the main island of Okinawa. It is a remote island on the east coast of the main island of Okinawa, so you can see the blue Pacific Ocean on the horizon as far as the eye can see.
Even Cape Hendo, the northernmost point of Okinawa, takes a little more than two hours by car, but this “Uuku no Hama” is also located in the central part of the main island of Okinawa and takes more than two hours to get to, making it difficult to access and giving it an amazing feeling of being at the end of the line.
Looking at the emerald green sea that almost sucks you in, you feel as if you have come a long way.
Recently, when my sense of being at the end of the world is at its maximum, people suddenly start walking toward me.
It used to be rare for people to come here, but recently many people have been uploading their photos to SNS, and it seems that this “beach of Uuku” is gradually becoming well-known.
Point 2: What kind of beach is “Uk’s Beach”?
A private sandy beach stretches out between craggy rocks.
This “Uuku beach” is a beautiful sandy beach and the water is as clean as a swimming pool, so you can take extremely beautiful pictures on a sunny day.
It is not a well-maintained beach and there are no safety nets or lifeguards. Some people seem to enjoy snorkeling on their own.
The snorkeling has many rare tropical fish that you cannot see on the mainland.
As long as you don’t go too far out to sea, there are no strong offshore currents, so even small children can enjoy the beautiful fish in the clear water.
Please note that this is not a well-maintained beach, and there are no restrooms, changing rooms, rentals, or vending machines.
Point 3: The after-beach at “Uk’s Beach” is also fun!

Uuku no Hama” is located on Miyagi Island, the middle of the four outlying islands connected to Uruma City. Nearby is the famous power spot “Kaho Banta,” which gives the island a sacred feeling.
There are no other tourist attractions on Miyagi Island other than Kaho Banta, but there is a common store called “Momohara Kiosk.
This is a part of Okinawan and Amami culture that is no longer found in urban areas such as Naha, even on the main island of Okinawa, so please experience it for yourself. There is also a “Ikejima Kyodo Kiosk” in the center of the neighboring island of Ikejima.
You may be able to find bargains that you can’t find in the big mass merchandisers.
