About 48 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This store is famous for its gelato made from island ingredients. Well, there are many ice cream shops in Okinawa, but not many gelato shops. The store is currently closed for preparation of a new store, but it is scheduled to open soon. We are looking forward to seeing the new store and its increased power.
Point 1: What is the business status of “Island Gelato & Cafe ISOLA”?
Island Gelato & Cafe ISOLA” is located 48 minutes by car from the airport and offers gelato and pasta. The exterior of the renovated foreign residence is cute!
The gelato made with Okinawan ingredients and the pasta is very popular with many fans! Some people even say that it tastes better than the real Italy!
Some people even say that it tastes better than the real Italy! As proof of this, the restaurant even opened a branch on the famous “Nippon Maru,” a “gourmet ship,” so you can see how good it is.
It was located near Torii Station, a recreational beach for the U.S. military in Chubei, Yomitan Village, but will soon be relocated to Depot Island in American Village, where it will have a more spacious location.
The exterior of the gaijin residence was cute, so it will be missed, but we hope that the new store will not blur the concept and have an exciting appearance.
The business has already closed on July 15, and the relocation and opening is scheduled for late August. They will report their progress on Instagram.
ISOLA is getting more and more powerful, and we are looking forward to the new store.
Point 2: What is the gelato menu at “Island Gelato & Cafe ISOLA”?
Island Gelato & Cafe ISOLA is famous for its pasta made from Okinawan ingredients, but it is also famous for its delicious gelato.
The gelato varieties include the Okinawan “Mars Milk,” “Beni Imo Milk,” “Chinsuko Rum Raisin,” “Tarama Brown Sugar & Kinako,” the brightly colored “Dragon Fruit,” the rare mikan “Curved Cheese,” and the “Coconut Blue” made with butterfly peas and coconut milk (all for 486 yen). All are made with EM dairy milk.
All are made from EM dairy milk, which gives them a rich taste that cannot be obtained from mass production.
Other seasonal dishes such as strawberry and passion fruit are also available from time to time.
The pasta had many fans, but for various reasons, the café will no longer be open at the new location, and it will start operating as a gelato and donut store.
Unfortunately for pasta fans, the new form of doughnuts will also be of interest.
Point 3: Where will “Island Gelato & Cafe ISOLA” move to?
Island Gelato & Cafe ISOLA” will move at the end of August to a new location on Depot Island in Chatan Town’s American Village, right next to “Christmas Land” and across from the Lawson on the first floor of the Vessel Hotel.
From the mellow Yomitan Village Chobe’s former foreigner housing site to one of the top two tourist destinations in Okinawa.
The atmosphere will be different, but this is inevitable due to various reasons.
Depot Island is crowded with restaurants, so I hope that friendly competition will lead to the creation of more sophisticated gelato!
