Renaissance Beach” is located in Onna Village, and there is no shortage of things to see and do and places to eat.
The Seaside Drive-In, located five minutes north by car from Renaissance Beach, is recommended. It is a real American restaurant in taste and atmosphere.
Although it is located on the base, it is open to the public. However, order is in English, and payment is in dollars or credit cards.
Occasionally some people can speak Japanese, but the chances of getting it right are not high.
The menu offers steak, pancakes with bacon, hamburgers, fried chicken, and other American fare, but it is also a place where you can experience Japanese cuisine through foreign eyes, including Katsudon (pork cutlet served on top of a bowl of rice), Unaju (eel stew), suet pork, and beef Chamen (fried pork belly and pork belly).
Also, be sure to order the clam chowder, which is excellent. The takeout containers are also nice and retro.
Founded in 1967, its appearance has a good old-fashioned American feel that is different from Showa-era retro.
The interior is also quite retro, but the exterior is especially picturesque with a sense of the weight of time.
