It takes about 1 hour and 9 minutes by car from Naha Airport. The beach is located on Hamahika Island, one of the four remote islands off the coast of Uruma City on the Pacific Ocean side of central Okinawa’s main island, close to the main island. It is a relaxing port town, but it is actually a spiritual island where you can enjoy seafood and gourmet food. It is an island I would like to visit at least once.

Point 1: What is the location where “Muluk Beach Beach” is located? Can I drive there?

Murukuhama Beach is located on Hamahika Island, the easiest to reach of the four remote islands off the coast of Uruma City on the Pacific Ocean side of the central Okinawa main island.

Even though it is a remote island, it is not necessary to take a regular boat, and it is connected to the main island by a bridge, so it can be reached by car.

The first is the “underwater road” that connects the main island to the outlying islands. The name is strange, but it is said to have been given this name because it is made of heaped up soil! In the old days, people used to walk across the road when the tide was low.

Then there is the “Hamahika Ohashi Bridge” that crosses to Hamahika Island.

Crossing this bridge marks the beginning of “Hama-Hika time,” which is even slower than on the main island.

Point 2: What kind of beach is “Muluk Beach”? Are there any activities?

Unfortunately, “Mulukuhama Beach” is not an official beach, so there are no activities or rentals.

Instead, visitors can fully appreciate the tranquil seascape of large rocks protruding into the sea, which is typical of Okinawa.

There are, after all, seascapes that are unique to Okinawa, and it is a thrill to see something that you cannot see in everyday life.

It is even romantic to see the large rocks that were washed away by tsunamis in ancient times, sticking out of the sea.

Of course, swimming is allowed on this beach, as it is not prohibited. The clarity of the water is quite clear, as this is a remote island. There are many tropical fish, and I cannot hide my excitement. But, after all, this is a sacred island, so you should keep your excitement to about half, and behave moderately.

Point 3: What are the sights and food around “Murukuhama Beach”?

Hamahika Island, where Murukuhama Beach is located, is the place where the legend of Okinawa’s version of Adam and Eve remains, and it is said that the human race in Okinawa spread from here.

The island’s “Sirmichu” has a very sacred and solemn atmosphere, and just going there makes you feel refreshed. Why not visit there at least once?

Hamahika Island is also famous for its delicious seafood cuisine. There are several restaurants on the island that sell gourmet seafood dishes, mainly B-class gourmet.

Among them, “COCO SHRIMP” in the eastern part of the island is so popular that not only tourists but also locals drive all the way from other areas of the island to eat there.

Once you try the garlic shrimp, you will become addicted to it.
