It takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport. It is the least visited area on the northern & Pacific Ocean side of Okinawa’s main island. The waters of Yanbaru are famous for its transparency, which increases the further north you go, and this Yasuda Beach is also quite clear. However, it is an untouched natural beach with many wood chips and shells, so it is recommended to wear marine shoes if possible.

Point 1: What is the location of “Ada Beach”?

Ada Beach is located on the Pacific Ocean side of the northern part of the main island of Okinawa. It takes 2 hours and 15 minutes from the airport. If you are not careful, it may take longer than Cape Hendo, the northernmost point of the northern part of the island.

The area is surrounded by the great nature of Yanbaru National Park, and there is nothing but nature.

A little further south is Higashi Village, which has recently become popular for eco-tourism, and a little further north is Cape Hendo and the power spot Oishi Rinzan.

The inaccessibility of Yasuda Beach, which is more than two hours’ drive away, has spurred the rejection of tourists, and for the time being, it is not expected that Yasuda Beach will remain as quiet as it is now.

Point 2: What kind of beach is “Yasuda Beach”?

Access to Ada Beach is not a simple matter.

After driving north on Route 58, you will turn onto Route 2 to cross the main island of Okinawa.

After parking your car on the side of the road, you will finally be able to see the emerald green ocean through a roadless path overgrown with tropical plants.

The hard work of getting there makes it all the more thrilling when you see the ocean!

The clarity of the ocean is quite good, but the beach is almost pristine, so there is a lot of driftwood and pebbles. Bare feet can be tough, so we recommend wearing marine shoes if possible.

Depending on the day, you may even see sea turtles swimming, which is an experience you will not find in the central or southern ocean.

Point 3: What are some places to see and eat around “Ada Beach”?

When coming to “Ada Beach” via Route 58, you will pass by an unusual looking hotel called “Ada Garden Hotel.

This hotel was built as a sign of friendship between Japan and Vietnam, and has a somewhat Asian atmosphere.

The restaurant at this hotel is highly recommended, and its set menus of tender hamburgers and steaks are well known. The restaurant’s ethnic interior design gives it an upscale feel, so be sure to pay attention!

The Ada Garden Hotel is located in a mountainous area and is said to be the hotel where you can see the wild Yambaru queens the most.

It is said to be “the hotel where you can see the wild Okinawa rail most often.” It would be a waste to stay here only for a meal, so we recommend staying overnight if possible.
