It takes about one hour by car from Naha Airport. The beach is located on Miyagi Island off the coast of Uruma City on the Pacific Ocean side of central Okinawa Island. It is moderately narrow and has a private beach feel! There are no rentals or activities, but you can feel the natural beauty of the emerald-green sea with large rocks scattered throughout.

The uniquely named “Ndakachina Beach,” famous among locals for being able to turn the tables when you are about to lose a game of Shiritori, is located on a remote island off the coast of Uruma City in the central part of Okinawa’s main island.
There are four islands, of which “Miyagi Island” is the second closest to the main island.
Behind this beach is a cliff, “Kaho Banta,” which is famous as a power spot.
Access to “Nda Kachina Beach” by car from Naha Airport takes a little over one hour. It is located in the northeastern part of the island, 12 minutes across the underwater road via National Highway 58, Prefectural Highway 85, and 33.
By bus, it is a little more difficult, taking 2 hours and 50 minutes by Ryukyu Bus and the local community bus.
However, you will have to cross a bridge several times to access the beach, but the spectacular view of the emerald green ocean makes it a must-see destination.
Point 2: What kind of beach is “Ndakachina Beach” (Miyagi Island)?
Ndakachina Beach” (Miyagi Island) is a small, very private beach. The water is frighteningly clean, and the shallow water is dotted with large stones that were once washed away by an earthquake, with a sheer cliff behind that reminds one of a certain foreign movie that was shot on location on Phi Phi Island.
This beach is not an official beach, so there are no marine activities or rentals.
Snorkeling is possible but at your own risk. Life jackets are recommended.
Incidentally, there are tropical fish on this beautiful beach “to the point that children cry,” and even adults are said to be a bit taken aback.
This is a place where you can experience a “mini natural aquarium” for a while.
Point 3: What are the recommended spots around “Ndakachina Beach” (Miyagi Island)?
Nda Kachina Beach” (Miyagi Island) is located on a remote island in Uruma City in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, so it is easily accessible from anywhere in the southern, central, and northern parts of Okinawa’s main island.
From the direction of Naha Airport, you can enjoy both the city and nature through Urasoe City, Kitanakagusuku Village, Okinawa City, and the underwater road.
The huge malls with a slightly American flavor, such as Parco City, the largest shopping mall in Okinawa in Urasoe City, and AEON Lycoming in Okinawa City, are fun, and the unique and stylish cafes in Kitanakagusuku Village are also recommended.
There are also beaches and roadside stations along the underwater road, so it might be a good idea to get off at one of them.
In terms of places of historic interest, there are the ruins of Nakagusuku Castle and Katsuren Castle along the road, so you should stop by and take a look at them to get a glimpse of the glamorous culture of the Ryukyu Dynasty!
