This beach is located in Kadena Town in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, about 44 minutes by car from Naha Airport, and is very easily accessible. Rather than swimming or doing other activities, we recommend relaxing and watching the sunset. Since it is close to Kadena Air Base, it is also a place where you can enjoy the surrounding gourmet food, including American restaurants.

It takes only 44 minutes from Naha Airport via Route 58, which runs through Okinawa!
Kanehisa Kaigan Park Beach” is an easily accessible beach located in Kadena Town in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, very close to the U.S. Army Kadena Air Base.
Because of the proximity to the base, many foreign families can be seen strolling along the seawall and playing in the water.
There is almost no sandy beach, but only a well-maintained seawall and a promenade. Foreign families chatting on the boardwalk with the dynamic tropical sunset in the background. The scene is just like Hawaii.
Point 2: Are there any activities or rentals at “Kanehisa Kaigan Park Beach”?
There is no sandy beach at “Kanehisa Kaigan Park Beach,” only a well-maintained seawall and boardwalk.
Unfortunately, it is not an official beach, so there are no marine activities or rentals.
If you go a little further south from this beach to Miyagi Beach in Chatan, you will see foreigners and locals wearing wetsuits and carrying boards, but you will not see many of them here at Kanehisaigan Park Beach.
Some veterans say that this makes for a more relaxing diving experience, but it is at your own risk, so please be careful and cancel your dive on days when conditions are bad.
Kanehisakaigan Park Beach is a place to stroll along the seawall and watch the dynamic sunset at one of the most famous sunset spots in Okinawa.

We recommend “SEASIDE AT KADENA MARINA” (American cuisine, 9 minutes by car), which has a retro look and feel of America, “Gordy’s” (hamburgers, 6 minutes by car), and “Hamaya” (8 minutes by car), a famous restaurant serving Okinawan soba noodles.
