Nakkouri Beach” is located in Yomitan Village in the central part of Okinawa Island.
It is so conveniently accessible that it can be reached in one hour from Naha Airport by driving straight north on Route 58.
After passing through a small path lined with tropical plants, the ocean comes into view.
Behind the private white sandy beach are wild plant bushes and cliffs, giving you a sense of natural beauty.
The owner of Nakkouri Beach is opening the beach to the public out of the goodness of his heart, and volunteers from the beach cleaners sometimes come in to help.
We are very grateful that this beautiful beach is kept clean by the goodwill of the local people, and we are allowed to use it free of charge!
Point 2: What are the rentals and activities at “Nakkouri Beach”?
Since “Nakkouri Beach” is not an official beach, there are no activities or rentals.
There are no showers or changing rooms, but only toilets are scheduled for completion in 2024.
You will see locals and foreigners sunbathing, groups of people strolling along the beach on horseback, and many other people enjoying themselves in a variety of ways.
It is nice that there are not so many people here as at larger beaches!

In particular, the locally famous “Hanashiki Soba” (4 minutes by car) is a popular Okinawan restaurant that is particularly recommended.
The second floor is a tatami room, so it is safe for those with children.
Not only is there a single dish of Okinawa soba, but there is also a “soba set meal,” which is a hearty set meal with fried chicken and juicy sauce for a low price.
Toppings such as soki and tebichi are also hearty and rich in flavor.
There are also many recommended places to visit: Experience Kingdom Murasakimura (1 minute by car), Yachimun-no-sato (13 minutes by car), Zakimi Castle Ruins (7 minutes by car), and Blue Cave (20 minutes by car), giving you many options for things to see and do!
