Mid Cencury House Yogi” is located in Yogi, Okinawa City, in the central part of Okinawa Island. It is located in the southwestern part of Okinawa City, only an hour away from Naha Airport.
The house was renovated from a 1950s dilapidated U.S. military house on high ground, and the interior is decorated with mid-century furniture from the 1950s. The house is decorated with Okinawan floral blocks, and the interior is decorated with Okinawan traditional furniture.
The casual use of Okinawan flower blocks around the exterior is also a nice touch.
Once inside, it is like stepping back in time to the 1950s!
There are not many opportunities to stay in a retro space with such vintage value in the interior, are there?

The exterior of Mid Cencury House Yogi and the retro 58-square-meter home itself are lovely, but the vintage interior design that goes with it is also a sight to behold.
In this photo alone, an Eames lounge chair and ottoman (black chair on the left), a Sori Yanagi glass table, an Arne Jacobsen egg chair, and a Castiglioni FLOS light fixture are all on display, all of which would be worth millions if not replicated.
There is also an English record player and a radio that can listen to FM from the U.S. military, adding to the vintage atmosphere!
There is a refrigerator for the minibar and for guests, as well as a washing machine.
Although we would love to dance to 50’s music in a space like this, parties are not allowed, so this is for those who can enjoy antiques in a quiet atmosphere.

There are many retro American stores in the Yogi area of Okinawa City, where Mid Cencury House Yogi is located.
The best place to visit is Plaza House, Japan’s first shopping center, which is a 5-minute drive away.
It includes an American supermarket called “Rogers,” an authentic Indonesian restaurant called “Bali Moon Bali Noon,” an Indian restaurant called “Krishna,” an American bakery and cafe called “Melrose,” and a Chinese restaurant called “Moon Garden Restaurant.
There is also a movie theater called “Cinema Plaza House” on the second floor. Although it does not show many movies, it shows selected films as well as new releases, so it is highly recommended for those who have time!
