About 39 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This bento shop is located in the east of Naha City. They have a wide variety of bento boxes, hot snacks, and onigiri (rice balls), all for around one coin. I didn’t know there was a supermarket like this in Naha! What kind of supermarket is it?

Point 1: What is the location of the “Miyagi Super Market”?

Miyagi Super Market” is located in the east area of Naha City.

Other than “Shikinaen” as a sightseeing spot, this area may not be visited by many tourists.

However, since there have been many articles introducing this “Miyagi Super Market”, the number of tourists who come here for Miyagi Super Market may be increasing.

It takes about 40 minutes by car from the airport, or 4 minutes by bus from the Naha Bus Terminal, which is a 3-minute walk from the Asahibashi Yui Rail Station, to get off at the Ichinichibashi stop by taking bus 39 bound for Nanjo City Hall.

The landmark is a red sign with large white letters that read “Sake, Bento, 100-yen Soba, Miyagi Super Market.

Miyagi Super” opens at 6:00 in the morning. There are many cars parked on the street, and it is very crowded in the morning.

When I entered the store, I saw many men! Not only those in work clothes but also a high percentage of those in T-shirts and shorts!

It is truly a friend of working men!

Point 2: What is the price of a boxed lunch at “Miyagi Super Market”?

Miyagi Super” sells large and regular bentos, as well as onigiri (rice balls), hot snacks, rice bowls, and 100 yen soba noodles.

The mainstay of the bento is the large bento with a large assortment of fried food as if it were a Chinese man’s best friend, but the fact that even a large bento does not exceed 500 yen is amazing!

Normal-size bento is the size of a regular bento and costs between 200 and 330 yen. That is still inexpensive.

And even rice bowls start at 200 yen.

What is 100 yen soba in the soba corner? If it has meat as an ingredient, it is 200 yen. Of course, there are two types of soba: Okinawa soba and Miyako soba.

When I thought, “Hey, there is no soup in it. I thought, “There is no soup in it,” but it turns out that the system is such that the person who buys the soba pours the soup from a huge tank. It reminded me of the self-serve udon shops in Shikoku.

Point 3: Can it be reproduced at “Miyagi Super Market”? What is the soul food of Ishigaki Island?

Miyagi Supermarket” also sells onigiri (rice balls) and hot snacks, and fried foods are taken from the shelf with a heat-retention feature and placed in plastic bags as desired. There are always at least 15 varieties.

The onigiri (rice ball) system also allows you to take what you like from the shelf, but there are more than 10 varieties to choose from as well.

Hot snacks include chicken and white meat cheese, crispy chicken, pork tempura, quail skewers, croquettes, Menchikatsu, hash browns, etc. The most expensive crispy chicken is only 200 yen.

Onigiri rice balls are available in a variety of flavors, including kelp, salmon, cod roe, and tuna mayo, as well as Okinawan local delicacies such as pork and egg, and are priced at a reasonable 180 yen at most.

Onigiri and fried food remind me of “Onisasa,” which is said to be the soul food of Ishigaki Island, but it seems that they do not recommend combining onigiri and fried food.

There are only about four kinds of seasonings, but “Onisasa” fans should bring their favorite seasonings to the restaurant.

In addition, there is a four-and-a-half-tatami-mat “eat-out” corner outside the restaurant, not eat-in, with tasteful benches and chairs, which also seems to be Instagram-worthy in a different way!
