It takes about one hour by car from Naha Airport. The beach is located in Uruma City on the Pacific Ocean side of central Okinawa Island. Although the beach has been loved by locals for a long time, it has a management office, is well-equipped, and offers rentals and activities.

From Naha Airport, it takes only one hour by car via National Highway 58, Prefectural Highway 82, and National Highway 330.
By bus, it takes about two hours by connecting an expressway bus and an Okinawa bus.
It is a man-made beach, with concrete seawalls in some areas and sandy beach in others, offering two different looks.
Point 2: There are plenty of facilities! What kind of activities are available at “Uken Kaigan”?
Uken Beach” has a beautifully maintained seawall and a long, white, sandy beach.
The color of the sea is emerald green with blue tints depending on the light, and the sea is calm and tropical.
Floatation rings are available for rent, and banana boats, Flyboards, marbles, jet skis, and wakeboards are available for experience.
Although the number of activities is small, this is one of the few beaches in Okinawa where you can try flyboarding, jet skiing, and wakeboarding.
The beach is so white and clean that even sea turtles come to lay their eggs on it.
There are pavilions and tents, so BBQ is possible even in the rain.
BBQs are especially targeted, and although you need to gather eight people, they are offered at reasonable rates.
If you can stay on the beach, you should try to see the beautiful sunrise too!
Point 3: What are the sights and eateries around “Uken Kaigan”?
Uken Beach” is located in Uruma City in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, and its main attractions are the ruins of Nakagusuku Castle and Katsuren Castle, which are reminiscent of the Ryukyu Dynasty.
The Nakagusuku Castle Ruins are located along Route 331 on the way from Naha, and the Katsuren Castle Ruins are on the way to Uminchu Road in Uruma City, a 15-minute drive from the beach.
For gourmet food, you should also try local reputable gourmet restaurants such as Hogeki Soba (3 minutes by car) and Grape Tree (restaurant, 2 minutes by car), or try the excellent tacos and taco rice at King Taco, an established taco restaurant located 15 minutes away by car!
The rare taco cheeseburger is also highly reputed for its considerable volume at 400 yen.
