Tokeshi Beach is located in Yomitan Village, central Okinawa Main Island, about 1 hour and 12 minutes by car from Naha Airport, and is characterized by Ryukyu limestone rocks, blue sea, and a white clean sandy beach. Although it is considered to be a private beach of the nearby Hoshino Resort, anyone can enter and enjoy the artistic scenery of the former quarry.
Point 1: What is the location where “Tokeshi Beach” is located?
Tokeshi Beach is located in Yomitan Village in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, a little over an hour’s drive from Naha Airport.
Yomitan Village is lined with first-class hotels such as Hoshinoya, Hotel Nikko Alivila, Royal Hotel Cape Samba, and the Uza Terrace.
It is a wonder that there is such a quiet natural beach in spite of such famous hotels.
Point 2: What kind of beach is “Tokeshi Beach”?
The “Hoshinoya Okinawa” is located near the beach, and although the beach is considered to be the hotel’s private beach, it is actually a public beach and anyone can enter.
However, since it is not an official beach, there are no activities or rentals.
Tokeshi Beach is a long, white-sand beach, with uplifted Ryukyu limestone rock formations in places, providing a unique Okinawan seaside scene.
A little north of the beach, the remains of a former stone quarry, which was used from the Meiji to Taisho periods, can be seen in the sea, and the stone cut out at right angles looks unique and artistic.
The contrast between the white sand and the emerald green sea is even more beautiful when the weather is clear, making it a great place to take pictures.
If you want to enjoy activities, Nilai Beach, located next to the beach, is recommended.
Point 3: Where can I find gourmet food around “Tokeshi Beach”?
The photo shows Seeks juice and Bukubuku jelly soda at “Banta Cafe.
As “Tokeshi Beach” is located in Yomitan Village, there are many fashionable cafes and restaurants in the area.
The first one I would like to introduce is “Banta Cafe” at “Hoshinoya Okinawa”.
It is a semi-open-air café located right on the beach, with unique places such as tatami mats, terraces, and caves as seating areas, giving you a sense of openness.
There are 200 seats, so although it is a famous café, you probably won’t have to wait in line that long.
The food is stylish, as you would expect from the Hoshinoya family, and there is a wide selection of delicious dishes such as Po-tama rice balls and Uchina pizza toast (900 yen each)! The reasonable price is also an attraction.
There are many large hotels in the area and not many restaurants, but “Hanashiki Soba” is a must-visit restaurant.
In addition to standard Okinawa soba, the restaurant also features unique arrangements of Okinawa soba, such as Lebanilla soba, curry soba, and a “soba set meal” that includes fried chicken.
