The secret beach “Hanjaparma” in Yomitan Village, in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, is a popular beach loved by the locals, although it does not appear on the map.
How on earth we could get there was a mystery. No matter how much I looked up the address, it only said it was southwest of “Experience Kingdom Murasakimura,” and I couldn’t find the exact address.
However, someone wrote on Instagram that you should drive straight to the sea from “Town Plaza Kanehide Yomitan” and I found the rough address.
I see on the map that the road from Town Plaza Kanehide to the beach stretches like a grid. So, we should follow this road in the direction of the sea.
It takes about 2 minutes by car from Town Plaza Kanehide in Yomitan Village.
There are not many houses in the area, and as far as the eye can see, there are fields. When you pass through the road, which is thick with tropical plants and just enough for one person to pass, you will find an unbelievably smooth white sandy beach and emerald green ocean!
Is it kept clean because not many people come here? I don’t know if the locals clean the beach or not, but anyway, the water is clear and clean for the central part of the main island of Okinawa.
In terms of location, it seems to be near “Nakkouri Beach” and “Hamihira Beach.
It is a nice beach, which somehow makes sense that it is a place of relaxation for the locals. I don’t want it to be famous if possible, but it is so nice that I would like to introduce it to you.
Point 2: What kind of beach is “Hanjaparma”? Are there any activities?
Hanjaparma” is not an official beach, but a place for locals to relax, so there are no activities or rentals.
Both nearby Nakkouri Beach and Hamihei Beach do not offer activities or rentals, so if you want to enjoy marine activities, you may want to go a little further north to Nirai Beach.
Hanjaparma” is a nice beach with two faces, one is a mixture of rugged and wild Ryukyu limestone and the other is a long white sand beach, so why don’t you spend your time relaxing and enjoying the scenery without doing many activities?
Point 3: What are some places to see and eat around “Hanjaparma”?
Hanjaparma” is located in Yomitan Village in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, but if you go a little further north, you will find big famous hotels such as Hotel Nikko Alivila and Hoshino Resort, and down south is the major tourist area of Chatan Town, just like an air pocket, with no attractions or gourmet food.
The highlight is the “Experience Kingdom Murasakimura,” and if you have not yet “experienced” the various types of yachimun and other items, I highly recommend it.
There are not many theme parks where you can experience Okinawa’s performing arts culture, lifestyle, agriculture, and cooking, so I highly recommend that you give it a try.
As for gourmet food, we recommend “Hanashiki Soba” near Town Plaza Kanehide, which serves not only individual Okinawa soba but also gyoza (dumplings) and set meals.
